Last week, the mild-mannered Cliff Steele (Brendan Fraser) was just one half of a dynamic buddy cop duo, and next week, Robotman is heading to space with The Chief (Timothy Dalton) to rescue Dorothy Spinner (Abigail Shapiro) from her self-imposed exile.

Meanwhile, back at Doom Manor, Negative Man (Matt Bomer) entertains some unexpected houseguests when the Pioneers of the Uncharted return to Earth and things get even weirder than before.

Episode 206 - “Space Patrol”

@kider - I think they are supposed to be the Challengers of the Unknown; named changed for obvious reasons.

Caught up through the first 3 episodes this season. Thought the 1st was pretty weak and boring. 2nd had some good moments but mostly fell flat. The third episode though, that was a really good episode. It was dark and twisted and bloody with Red Jack, but it was well done and had some more great character moments. Really enjoyed it.

I think this season in general, at least through the first 3 episodes, lacks the hilarious, crazy nature that made the first season so good (for example, for the most part I have felt that Robotman has been unfunny and annoying, which sucks because he was the best part of s1). And while the "Pain Patrol" episode was dark, it was warranted.

@HeavyMetal4Life - I felt the opposite. Red Jack episode was the worst episode. They really need to go deeper with the villains. There was a bit more to him in the books even tho he wasnt around long. The rest of the episode was annoying.

@Grodd87 - sweet, that's up next tonight!

@Nightmare - hmm. I felt Tyme was a lame character who should have been more interesting, he was set up nicely but he ultimately fell flat. Red Jack was just so twisted and different, and I liked how he was portrayed and played. The rest of the episode had good Cyborg development, good Larry and Rita development. But did not care for the Cliff or Jane stuff, that's been pretty boring and repetitive.

@HeavyMetal4Life - They kinda screwed up with the butterflies thing tho. The pinned alive ones were supposedly the source of his power. In the show they just stabbed him and set them free after he died.

@Nightmare - fair enough. Don't get me wrong, I didn't think it was a great episode, still had issues, but thought it was better than what's come so far. Certainly not liking this season as much as the first.

I can’t get into this show at all. I think I’m mid episode 3 and thoroughly disappointed.

I'm guessing The "Pioneers of the Uncharted" are a version of the Challengers of the Unknown.

This season has been pretty underwhelming to me. More of the same with a lot of the characters. Dorothy has been a pest and Cyborg's side story isnt working with the show very well. I'm kinda intrigued by this one tho.

@Nightmare - yeah, makes sense not to call them the Challengers anymore...

@Nightmare - after 4 episodes now, yes Dorothy has been a big pest.

Wow these comments make me feel like the minority for literally loving every episode lol. Y’all the same people that’ll praise Titans disputes its major fundamental flaws, but make a big deal about this season being bad because it’s slightly toned down and focuses on the human elements even more. The villains are suppose to be wacky and goofy but they still serve a purposes of the plot. It doesn’t matter if you think they’re lame because that how their written, no different from season 1 villains other than Mr. Nobody to explain the insanity.

@Avidwatcher21 - You're crazy. I'm literally the only person on this site that praises Titans and I love Doom Patrol also. This season has been amazing.

@Himura - Titans had good elements here and there, but the storylines and editing made the series confusing and a chore to watch.

S1 ended on a terrible cliffhanger and S2 started off terrible, the whole trigon plot was completely decimated within one episode. The only great element between both seasons is Deathstroke who was massively underused. If felt the series lacked imagination and that they writing more plot as the series went. I’m not crazy for seeing a series for what it is, even if you think it’s a opinion. I can see you defending it if it well written and had an amazing storylines that appeased true fans, but you know it didn’t, soooo. Doom patrol is only comic book show that truly aware of the genres it’s confined too and actually adapted Grant Morrisons story’s without taking away the essence of the comics.
