Chris Chalk's 'Lucius Fox' Is The Latest GOTHAM Character To Achieve Series Regular Status

Another day, another promotion on Gotham! Following bumps for Morena Baccarin and Nicholas D'Agosto, Chris Chalk is the latest guest star to gain series regular status for Season 2 - and according to the show's EP, Chalk's 'Lucius Fox' will have a more vital role this time around...

The main cast of Gotham's second season is getting rather large, isn't it? Chris Chalk is the latest guest star to be promoted to series regular status on the FOX show, having made a small but memorable guest appearance as 'Lucius Fox' in the late stages of Season 1. This news, revealed first by TVLine, should not come as any surprise though, as Chalk was apparently brought onto the series with an explicit 'option to return' during the sophomore season.

When we last saw Mr. Fox, he had a few things to say to young Bruce about the state of Wayne Enterprises. According to Gotham EP John Stephens, Lucius will become "a
nother person who’s going to help Bruce on his journey to find out what happened to his parents and what his parents were doing, and also his journey to manhood and Batman-hood." Stephens also claimed that “[Adult Bruce is] like a science genius, and some of that’s going to come from Lucius Fox.”

Are you excited about seeing more of Bruce Wayne's trusted ally in the future? Were you impressed by what you saw of Chalk last season? And could his increased role signal the start of Bruce's 'extra-curricular' activities - maybe even some... spelunking? As always, leave your thoughts below!

Haha @RobinHood will do! I just know how much this community loves this show, and how they can't wait to hear more about it! ;)

In all seriousness, I'm actually quietly enjoying Gotham at the moment, and I especially enjoy the number and variety of its main characters. I like big ensemble shows. I get why some people don't like it, but it's much better when you treat it as it's own thing. Wish we'd had a proper adaptation of Brubaker's Gotham Central on HBO though. That would have been one for the ages!

I can see the potential for Bruce to begin his technical tutelage here. Bruce Wayne can have a ton of things that show why he is who he becomes via Gotham. I can see an awesome bond being built here, while also showing a credible reason for his tech heavy creations/repairs...

This is a good show...it's not the batman comic that we all love and revere, but just another take on the Batman mythology. Nothing wrong with that..

It appears that Season 2 will focus more on the Wayne Enterprises conspiracy (and possibly the Court of Owls, by extension). Hopefully they actually reveal who killed the Waynes and why. That was supposed to be the big mystery of season 1 but, sadly, they forgot about that and the Arkham City story (which season 2 is also supposed to focus on, judging from the interviews). I can't wait to see what they do with Hugo Strange.

I really hope second season improves. Over all I was not impressed with the first season. I kept with it in hopes it would get better.

My feelings are that Gotham should not have any future Bat villains in it and Bruce should hardly be in the show. I think the focus should solely be on Gordan and his battle with in the Gotham PD and fighting the mob.
