Could 'Fish Mooney' Appear In GOTHAM Season 2 After-all?

Due to Jada Pinkett Smith's announcement that her contract has expired, most of us thought we had seen the last of Fish Mooney in the recent GOTHAM Season 1 finale but it seems that may no longer be the case...

****SPOILERS AHEAD****

After Fish Mooney's apparent demise in the finale of the controversial first season of Gotham and Jada Pinkett Smith's announcement that her contract has not been renewed, it seemed pretty clear that Fish Mooney will not be returning to the show's second season...until now.

Actress Jada Pinkett Smith was recently interviewed by Entertainment Weekly, in which she spoke of her character and reflected on Gotham's first season as a whole. During the interview, Smith was asked specifically about the scene in the finale in which Fish Mooney was pushed off a building into the w
ater below by the Penguin. Though it was apparent that Fish Mooney had died, the episode left things suspiciously ambiguous when it comes to whether or not she truly perished. If Jada Pinkett Smith is to be believed, the ambiguity was definitely intentional.

When asked about whether or not Fish Mooney is truly dead, Smith replied, "That’s for the fans to determine. You saw the ending. She could be and she couldn’t be. Who knows? It was an interesting ending." During the interview, Smith was asked whether or not she would appear in the show's second season. Her answer was simple: "I will not be a series regular in season 2."

Notice that Jada Pinkett Smith did not flat out deny that she would appear in Gotham Season 2. Smith was finally asked about Fish Mooney possibly making a return to the series. Smith responded, "If she survives the fall. [Laughs] Yeah, I mean, it was water below."

Perhaps we haven't yet seen the last of Fish Mooney. Could this pose as a problem to the Penguin's criminal empire down the line? Or maybe Fish Mooney won't be coming back to the show in any capacity. Regardless, only time will tell.

Welcome, I am Darkknight2149. I am primarily a fan of comic books and their various adaptations, as well as horror and other classic film franchises.

As far as the "DC vs. Marvel" rivalry goes, I'm really not biased when it comes to studios and publishers. Preferences are fine, but I've never understood the basing of opinions purely by the studio/publisher that makes it.
