First Look At Michael Chiklis In GOTHAM As 'Captain Nathaniel Barnes'

Gotham has cast a number of new faces ahead of its sophomore season, but none have been quite as exciting as the arrival of Michael Chiklis. Now we've received our first look at the former star of The Shield, in character as GCPD Capt. 'Nathaniel Barnes'.

EW has provided us with our first look at Michael Chiklis on FOX's Gotham as Captain 'Nathaniel Barnes', alongside Messrs. Bullock & Gordon in the GCPD precinct. It's probably a familiar setting for the actor who starred in seven seasons of FX's acclaimed crime drama, The Shield. Chiklis will make his debut as Barnes in episode four of the show's second season, which has been titled 'Strike Force' (a homage to his character's team of unethical cops on The Shield).

Gotham Season 2 premieres Monday, September 21 on FOX.

The stakes are higher than ever as Gotham explores the origin stories of some of the most ambitious and depraved Super Villains, including The Riddler, The Joker and Mr. Freeze, and Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) uncovers more secrets from his father’s past.

@Doopie

I've heard of setting the bar low, but that one's underground.

I was hoping he'd be the same character from The Commish

Chris Evans was the only one of the Story FF cast that is well off right now. Fitting, since he was probably the best in his role.

My dad used to watch the Commish, and sometimes I would casually watch it with him.

@JH24 I agree, I think everyone on this show is a pretty sweet actor, but the writers give them zilch, zero, bupkis to work with. I wish a writing group like the one from The Wire would try their hand at a comic book TV series

i think he was medicore Ben Grimm (actually it's not his fault, he just did not looked as Ben) but i really dig him as The Thing. The Thing voice in the first movie was great. I think they changed his voice for part 2. The makeup was good. I always thought the costume sucks but after watching (entire) movie for the first time i changed my mind. It fit well with the approach they were going for. First Tim Story FF movie is more like an old tv Hulk movie. Corny but fun - with good focus on characters.
