Gotham has now entered its fifth and final season and it's no secret that Batman will be making an appearance in the final episode when we jump forward in time and finally see Bruce Wayne suit up.

Now, a new promo for next week's episode - "Trespassers" - has been released and as well as teasing what appears to be a battle between Bruce and The Joker in Ace Chemicals, the preview ends with a shot of Batman himself running through the streets of Gotham City. He's shrouded in fog so we only get a glimpse of his cowl but this is an exciting tease of what's to come.

Whether it means the Caped Crusader will show up as soon as next week is hard to say but after a five-year wait, viewers are anxious to see Batman finally make his presence felt in the show.

Great start to hopefully an even greater final season to Gotham. I love how Bruce is in full-vigilante mood the whole way through. Even the cops respect and listen to him like he's been doing this for years (I mean, I guess he has.)

He really has grown.

Although I stopped watching during Gotham during the second season, I think I might watch this when Bruce goes full Batman at the end of the show.

OT: I'm playing Batman: The Enemy Within now, and I must say that I really like what they did with the Joker

11 episodes to go still no actual 'bat' on the show , wonder how they gonna explain bruce 's choice to wear that particular costume , maybe like 'year one batman' where a bat just go through his window

solid season premier imo , killing **** was kind of shockng but not unexpected

@Krav - At the end of season 4, Man-Bat appears. Maybe Bruce suffers a really terrifying experience with this villain and that influences the decision to use the bat symbol.

I like the idea of watching an actor transform from a child into Batman on screen, but this has moved a little too quickly. If I was Mazouz, I would've hit the gym hardcore... he's so young looking, but if he beefed up, at least he might pull off the physically imposing side of it... he seems so slight. The Riddler on the show is much bigger and that seems kinda backwards to me...

@bs77 - To be fare, maybe he could have bulked up if the show had gone on longer, he was only 12 or 13 when the show started, so not much time to bulk up when you are dealing with school, filming a show that films most of the year, plus other projects

I believe Jim Gordon will know Bruce is Batman. He’s not using his asshole persona when he’s around Gordon and he’s a detective and he would realize Bruce is Batman.
