HBO Max recently announced that the adult animated adventures of Harley Quinn will return to our screens on Thursday, July 28, and we now have a brand-new trailer to give fans a better idea of what to expect from the upcoming third season.

The promo kicks-off with the debut of Nightwing (voiced by What We Do in The Shadows star Harvey Guillén), who irritates Harls with some typically dour narration while sitting beside her on a bus. We then see that Quinn and Poison Ivy's relationship is progressing nicely, but the latter's scheme to terraform Gotham City threatens to drive a wedge between them when innocent people begin to get hurt.

As if dealing with a city full of lethal plants and being targeted by The Suicide Squad (see the previous trailer) wasn't enough, The Joker returns and announces his plan to run for mayor!

Check out the trailer below along with a new poster, and let us know what you think in the comments section.

Star Kaley Cuoco teased the “great, ridiculous, [and] more and more insane” third season during an interview with TV Line. “They are living life, loving each other, fighting…,” said Cuoco of her character and Ivy. “Their relationship is the main focal point of this season, and it’s hilarious and actually really, really sweet.”

We recently learned that a Kite Man spinoff is in the works, so expect Ivy's hapless ex to factor in somewhere and possiby throw a spanner in the works.

Probably the biggest surprise hit from DC in recent memory, I thoroughly enjoy this show. Bane steals every scene he’s in!

@Origame - Well it's season 3 and she has parted ways with The Joker, so it could be perfect time to introduce Punchline.

@dracula - Oh yeah, Young Justice is the s#!t. That clifthanger with long awaited Supergirl debut, putting seemingly a bit of a twist to the Batman/Superman: Supergirl from Krypton -storyline. The Mary Marvel sub-plot, which honestly, I almost forgot was still unresolved. And I'm assuming the Big Barda's turn from the Apocalypse like in the comics, which they did already tease a bit in season 3. This gonna be epic. We might be looking at some Zuko-level redemption-arks next season. If we're lucky.

I think they are ending every season on a clifthanger now, because of what happened after season 2. Basically sending a subtle message to WB. "Go a head, we dare you to cancel us now. See how the fans will react (again)."

Another bastardization of Harley Quinn I wished to forget.

Honestly loved the first 2 seasons. A surprisingly good balance of irreverent humor, drama, character development, and solid comic lore all mixed up in a martini.

Off-topic: @KingPatel the full (1st?) trailer for Stargirl Season 3 came out yesterday and I saw that it wasn't shared anywhere so maybe you can do a thread for it soon. Originally it aired during a panel at this Saturday's FAN EXPO Chicago panel where some cast members attended to it.

And a poster was also handed there but it still isn't out in HD yet.

So, I'm not really a DC fan (especially not the DCEU, however I always try to watch watch the movies if I can so that if I feel the need to comment on them I'm not one of those "talking out of my ass" folks). Can't stomach the CW shows though I took in a couple of episodes of "Flash" the last time I was on vacation in Cancun and that was about the only thing that they had on TV that I was remotely interested in. Too cheesy for me. However, I do try to at least stay on top of what is happening in DC/DCEU just so that if something comes along that I might like I'll know what's going on with it. Like, I thought WW, Shazam, and Aquaman were alright, but not great, and I have them on disk. But overall my favorite comic character after Spider-Man is an arm-wrestling match between Batman and Wolverine. But that's just me. Your mileage may vary.

So I say all that to say that even though I'm generally a big Marvel fan on this site, I'm open to anything good that DC has to offer, even if I don't have the same deep background knowledge/appreciation of the characters as some of you other folks do (I actually quite liked "The Batman", although it was kind of a slog for my wife and little girls to sit through (it took three viewings to complete the frickin' movie - don't worry, I let the girls watch whatever they wanted on D+ afterward).

So with that in mind... damn this looks like a show that's right up my alley. I've always liked edgy animation (I used to watch Adult Swim during my college days), I just can't watch this around my kids. And I don't really want to subscribe to HBOMAX. BUT it would be super cool if Marvel were to do a Deadpool type of show like this (I've heard faint rumors here and there about that). I mean, for as cool as this show seems to be, no offense to Harley, but a Deadpool show like this would be off the (insert object here: "chain", wall", etc.).

Anyhow, I wouldn't be surprised, given DP's popularity and the fact that DC is doing these adult cartoons, if a DP one is at least being discussed.
