KRYPTON: Doomsday Is Coming In The New Promo & Photos For Season 1, Episode 6: "Civil Wars"

We're officially halfway through the first season of Krypton and based on this new season preview, it looks like the series is really about to up the crazy as a pair of Superman's most iconic baddies, Brainiac and Doomsday, get ready to make a lasting impression on the planet's early inhabitants.

However, while Doomsday may be the one to ultimately kill the Man of Steel, it looks like this early version of the character will actually be used by Seg (Cameron Cuffe), Lyta (Georgina Campbell), Adam (Shaun Sipos), and General Dru (Colin Salmon) in an effort to stop Brainiac's mad reign.

Watch the new promo for episode six, titled "Civil Wars," below:

Set two generations before Superman ever heads to Earth, Krypton follows Kal-El’s grandfather (played by Cameron Cuffe) — whose House of El was ostracized and shamed — as he fights to redeem his family’s honor and save his beloved world from chaos. The series comes from producers David Goyer (the Dark Knight trilogy) and Damian Kindler (Sleepy Hollow). Along with Cuffe, the show stars Georgina Campbell (Broadchurch), Elliot Cowan (Da Vinci’s Demons), Ann Ogbomo (World War Z), Rasmus Hardiker (Your Highness), Wallis Day (Will), Aaron Pierre (Tennison) and Ian McElhinney (Game of Thrones).

Krypton features:
Cameron Cuffe as Seg-El
Georgina Campbell as Lyta Zod
Shaun Sipos as Adam Strange
Ann Ogbomo as Jayna-Zod
Aaron Pierre as Dev-Em
Wallis Day as Nyssa-Vex
Ian McElhinney as Val-El
Blake Ritson as Brainiac

Krypton returns with an all-new episode on April 11

If Brainiac is defeated at the end of the first season, season 2 should use The Reach

and maybe include Khaji Da

or just another Scarab

This was well done. When Colin Salmon said to Lyta that he was her son, I wasn't sure I heard him correctly until Adam Strange confirmed it in the preview. My jaw Dropped, I was onboard with this show when I heard about the Time Travel element, but now I am completely engrossed in this. I mean what are they going to do with this? I really can't wait to find out next week.

@Kryptonmatters - It didnt hit me until the preview either that he's THE General Zod. I guess I forgot that Zod is Jor-El's age and not Superman's.

I always figured the only time traveler would be Adam Strange. This totally opens up the door for characters like Jor-El and even Superman himself to travel back in time and appear on the show.

Thank god I gave this show a chance. Its quickly becoming my new favorite comic book tv series.

@Himura - I can see Superman appearing in some way, but at the same time I he doesn't. I don't want this show to rely on Superman to get people to watch it. This is the story of how the House of El became the prominent house that it is. In fact my dad compared this series, and how each house is handled to the Dune Prequel novels.

@Kryptonmatters - Oh I definitely agree I want the show to stand on its own merits. It's doing fine without Supes. I'm just saying this opens up the door for pretty much anyone to show up now.

@Himura - Now what they could do is have the big bad for next season be Ultraman or even Injustice Superman

SPOILERS SPOILERS The reveal definitely caught me off guard. I was actually starting to wonder, exactly what is coming that’s trying to wipe out Superman because the Braniac stuff didn’t seem to fit because he’s from their point of time. Insane dilemma Seg is in now. Zod is gonna Zod so we know he’s being legit and honestly wants to save Krypton. So the thing that’s wiping Superman out of existence is Krypton being saved. That’s great shit!

I wonder how long they can drag this show out before the kaboom?

@slickrickdesigns - considering the main character is Superman’s grand father and krypton blows up when Superman is a baby, I’d say quite awhile

@Himura - and it will be entertaining for some and awful for others. I’ll pass on the Kryptonian Soap Opera.

Definitely way better than I was expecting. I hope DC is taking notes on the compelling storyline and accurate depiction of the main villain. Brainiac looks way better than Stepenwolf!

Why are they talking like „General Zod..Supermans greatest enemy..“ or sth like that when this is set two generations before Kal-El?? Can anyone enlighten me pls? Still very sceptical if I should give this show a try as a huge Superman-fan.

Actually...really liked this episode!
That was a nice twist at the end of the ep, i thought he was Lyta's Father, but it turns out he's her son, and...i guess, General Zod's Father?
Heh.
