With a girlfriend that's a master of the dark arts, it was always exceedingly likely that Ray Palmer would find himself in a predicament sooner than later and based on the new promo, it doesn't look like he'll be handling his possession particularly well as his evil side wants to kill all of his friends.

Meanwhile, Nate (Nick Zano) and Zari (Tala Ashe) are stuck in a perpetual state of awkwardness, so Sara (Caity Lotz) sends them on what should be an easy mission. Plus, Charlie (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) and Rory (Dominic Purcell) get an offer that they may just not be able to refuse.

"Egg MacGuffin" - (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-14, DLV) (HDTV)

IT'S NOT WHAT IT SEEMS - While Ray (Brandon Routh) is worried about Nora (Courtney Ford), he is suddenly faced with his own problem that forces him to do the unthinkable. Nate (Nick Zano) and Zari (Tala Ashe) are stuck in an awkward limbo, so Sara (Caity Lotz) devises a plan to send them on an easy mission together. Meanwhile, Charlie (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) and Rory (Dominic Purcell) are approached with a lucrative offer that could upend their lives. Jes Macallan, Matt Ryan and Ramona Young also stars. After defeating the demon Mallus by cuddling him to death with a giant stuffed animal named Beebo, the Legends are ready to ease off the gas. Sara and her team join Ava Sharpe and the Time Bureau to help clean up the last few remaining anachronisms. The job seems straightforward enough until Constantine arrives to inform them that, in solving one major problem, they have created another, much larger one. When the Legends let time crumble in order to release and defeat Mallus, the barrier between worlds softened. History is now infected with "Fugitives" - magical creatures from myths, fairytales, and legends. Having been expelled throughout time by people like Constantine, these Fugitives are now returning to our world in droves and making a real mess of things. As the Time Bureau is distrustful of and ill-equipped to deal with magic, the Legends must team up with everyone's favorite demonologist to set history back on track.

A good episode; not great, but better than last week's and maybe the second or third strongest episode of the back half of this season.

There was a lot of stuff I liked. Some good humor, some nice twists (Nora really had me convinced she was going to turn evil, Ray becoming possessed, etc), and some nice character moments. I personally was more interested in the Neron storyline than the Ava one, but I like that it resolved the drama between her and Sara, which was forced and unnecessary from several episodes prior; liked the tests they went through for their relationship. Did very much enjoy Constantine and Nora working together, as I said that snake eyes move where Nora tricks Neron was sweet. And it was great to finally see Neron in his final form. Was surprised to have Desmond return, guess that's the end of his involvement this season. Also liked Nate's journey this episode; wish that Zari's text had actually been read to Nate though.

@dracula - I like how you think. Specially because I knew next to zero about those characters and I always feel a show like Legends is the best place where they could get screentime. *crosses fingers*

@NinnesMBC - I also tried to stick to characters, that could realisticly be done on Legend's budget, cause really, because they dont have sets outside of the waverider that they can use on a regular basis, so a large amount of that budget goes to locations every week, and pretty sure they dont have the budget they had in season 1, do I picked characters who either dont have powers or dont have flashy powers. From what I know Animal Man's powers are basically Vixen's minus the glowing animals. Star Man's powers come from the staff, so easy to separate him from that once in a while, plus they can connect him to Star Girl. Kamandi and Tommy Tomorrow have no powers so thats easy, plus it would just be cool to see them. They teased Kamandi for season 3, they said they wanted to use him, but we got nothing

All the filler with Zari and the others was actually pretty funny. I like that they can have small side stories that include the rest of the cast without needing to go super deep or into a story arch. It kinda helps focus the rest of the show too.

I think the episode needed to include Zari, Charlie, Mona and Mick into the "trapping Neron" plot instead of relegating them to irrelevant matchmaking "Natari" scenes because really, they were wasted in them. I've been hearing that Mona in particular is like the newest and most hated character in the Season and I can see why after this episode it will increase more because she was turned into the most cringey parts of Gary: being an overexcited shipper. I don't share any hatred to Mona but I would have to be blind after this to not see some reasons why some would.

I think they let go a nice chance to see Neron trying to get through each of them and not just through Nora at first. Mona's buried grief and anger for Konane's death could have been exploited by Neron or he could have proposed to her what he tried to do with Nora by promising to resurrect Damian Darhk, with Charlie he could've used her fear of dying without using her powers (seems to have been forgotten since the mid-Season finale), Mick is obvious how it could be done and Zari through bargaining with her in changing her future.

They only bothered to do that with Nate's anger and would have been a parallel of how the Legends stick together in the real world while AvaLance did in Ava's purgatory.

But all in all and forgetting about that part the episode was still nice and the plot kept moving at least. Desmond's actor did good as Neron's vessel and I think Brandon Routh is underrated in the show, he's used mostly for comedic relief so I hope they give him good material to chew on as Neron now. Expecting more scenes like when Nate punched him but now viceversa. It's good that they are pushing Ray and Nate slowly out of their comfort zone.

My favourite part about the AvaLance subplot was choosing their bed.

That theme park will surely become relevant again in the finale. Neron is gonna find the way to turn that "zoo" into something fearsome.

I do wish Neron had an actual form besides just a black smoke with red light inside it. But oh well.

Hopefully Ray's plot as Neron takes much of the spotlight next week.

You know, instead of going through all the drama with Nora and Ava, the team could've saved some time and effort if they'd gone with either the Courage the Cowardly Dog method of exorcism:
?t=70

(Transliteration: Hullaballoo and howdy-doo, musty prawns and Timbuktu, yeltsy pie and hippity poo, kick 'em in the dishpan, hoo hoo hoo.)

Or they could go with the Richard Pryor method:

Either way, with Neron exorcised, all you'd need to do then is throw a ghost trap courtesy of the 'busters.
