All aboard the Waverider!
Entertainment Weekly has confirmed today that former series regulars Brandon Routh (Ray Palmer/the Atom), Victor Garber (Dr. Martin Stein/Firestorm), Franz Drameh (Jax/Firestorm), Courtney Ford (Nora Darhk), Falk Hentschel (Hawkman), and Arthur Darvill (Rip Hunter) will all be returning to DC's Legends of Tomorrow for the upcoming 100th episode.
They join the previously announced Wentworth Miller, who is also set to reprise his fan-favorite role as Leonard Snart, a.k.a. Captain Cold.
Conspicuous by his absence, however, is the show's second-longest tenured member, Dominic Purcell, who played Mick Rory, a.k.a. Heatwave, for six seasons before departing the show as a full-time regular in last season's finale. Whether he shows up or not remains to be seen, especially considering the explosive nature of his exit, but it's hard to imagine the show won't honor him in some way if he did end up missing the festivities.
Caity Lotz is directing the hour, which is set to air on October 27. However, in a unique twist, this one will be told entirely from the viewpoint of Gideon (Amy Louise Pemberton).
The official synopsis for the episode, titled "wvrdr_error_100 not found," reads,
"LEGENDS OF PAST AND PRESENT IN THE 100th EPISODE - With Astra (Olivia Swann), Spooner (Lisseth Chavez) and a now-human Gideon (Amy Pemberton) trying to save the Legends, Gideon becomes overwhelmed by her new human choices sending her into a catatonic state. Astra and Spooner combine their powers to enter Gideon's mindscape and discover that a virus is trying to erase all of Gideon's memories. Acting fast, they devise a plan to defeat the virus before it's too late. Meanwhile, the Legends are about to go up against a powerful new foe. Caity Lotz, Jes Macallan, Nick Zano, Tala Ashe, Shayan Sobhian, and Adam Tsekham also star. Caity Lotz directed the episode written by Phil Klemmer & Matthew Maala (#703). Original airdate 10/27/2021."
