According to THR, actress Lesley-Ann Brandt (who played Copperhead on Gotham) will replace Lina Esco as Maze on Fox's Lucifer pilot. This character was first introduced in the pages of Neil Gaiman's Sandman as Lucifer's right hand woman, who eventually follows him to Earth. She's described as "a fierce demon in the form of a beautiful young woman" on the show. The pilot will be directed by Len Wiseman (the Total Recall remake, Underworld), who will also executive produce along with Tom Kapinos, Jerry Bruckheimer and Jonathan Littman.

The original logline for the show was pretty similar to the comic series, and had Lucifer growing tired with his infernal responsibilities and relocating to LA where he opened an exclusive piano bar called Lux. Now it seems it's "undergone an evolution toward a police procedural", with the character getting his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals. Tom Ellis will play the titular Fallen Angel, along with Lauren German as Chloe Dancer. D.B. Woodside, Rachael Harris, and Nicholas Gonzalez also have supporting roles.

Actress is in the thumbnail, character in the article. If you need your jollies by looking at a full body pic, you have Google images.

This isn't an adaptation, it's a bastardisation.

@AngelaB: You're right - this does sound boring. That's because this is nothing like the excellent non-traditional Lucifer comic book epic by Peter Carey, but has been diluted into this formulaic, seen-it-all-before, just-like-everything-else police procedural that absolutely nobody wants to see. Adapting the actual comic would have been interesting, bold and original - and something I'd absolutely love to see. This? Not so much.

"The theme of the Lucifer series revolves around the free-will problem. Carey's Lucifer is a figure representing will and individual willpower, who challenges the "tyranny of predestination". While in Heaven's eyes this is blasphemy, Lucifer points out that the rebellion (and indeed all sin) and damnation as consequence were pre-planned by his Creator, God. Lucifer rejects God's rule and moral philosophy as tyrannical and unjust."

See - that's interesting. Lucifer helping the LA police solve crimes? [frick] that.

Wrong actress. This is Amanda Waller

@AngelaB - @Zordan referred to the fact that actress that plays Amanda Waller on Arrow, replace Lesly-Ann Brandt on Spartacus. Which technically (mostly in a fanboy way) makes Brandt the first Amanda Waller.

Got it now? Maybe next time you will at least try Google before telling that someone is wrong.
