LUCIFER Adds 3 To Cast; Including D.B. Woodside As 'Amenadiel'
Fox's Lucifer pilot has added 3 more series regulars to the cast: Rachael Harris, Nicholas Gonzalez, and D.B. Woodside who'll be playing a character from the Vertigo comic series; the angel Amenadiel.
According to Deadline, D.B. Woodside, Rachael Harris, and Nicholas Gonzalez have landed series regular roles in Fox’s comic book drama pilot, Lucifer. Woodside will play Amenadiel, "an angel sent to Los Angeles to persuade Lucifer to return to Hell." Harris has been cast as Linda, "a therapist Lucifer initially encounters when working with Chloe to solve a case", and Gonzalez is Dan, "a gruff LAPD homicide detective, who is wary of Lucifer’s involvement with his wife and daughter." The pilot will be directed by Len Wiseman (the Total Recall remake, Underworld), who will also executive produce along with Tom Kapinos, Jerry Bruckheimer and Jonathan Littman.
The original logline for the show was pretty similar to the comic series, and had Lucifer growing tired with his infernal responsibilities and relocating to LA where he opened an exclusive piano bar called Lux. Now it seems it's "undergone an evolution toward a police procedural", with the character getting his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals. Tom Ellis will play the titular Fallen Angel, along with Lina Esco as Maze/Makikeen, and Lauren German as Chloe Dancer
