PENNYWORTH Meets Thomas Wayne In Our First Proper Look At The Upcoming Epix Series

Epix has finally shared a proper teaser promo for Pennyworth, giving us a brief look at Jack Bannon's (Ripper, The Imitation Game, Endeavor) Alfred introducing himself to Thomas Wayne (Ben Aldridge).

The teaser also provides quick glimpses of some of the show's supporting players, including Emma Paetz as Martha Wayne, and Paloma Faith as a mysterious villain named Bet Sykes.

We still don't know a whole lot about this R-rated origin story, but it has been confirmed that Alfred will team-up with Thomas Wayne to form a security company in 1960s London. No established Batman baddies will appear, but the show is expected to feature "archetypal villains and classic villains of British literature."

What do you guys think of this first look at Pennyworth? Drop us a comment down below.

I think this looks pretty good but I don't like the idea of Thomas Wayne being involved in Alfred's service background.

A look won't hurt. It seems intriguing and they'll have liberty. A different type of Elseworlds approach like Gotham was.

The date in summer works for it as well. July 28? Not bad. ;)

I would ❤️ If they would introduce villains in Pennyworth that were soul mates in someway to the villains Batman woudl one day have to face.

It would give the viewer some idea of how Alfred learned about these types of monsters and was able to help Bruce this type of evil.

Like how Michael Cain describes it in TDK.

Pennyworth doesn’t need “The Joker”...but maybe a villain who is an anarchist and just wants to ‘watch the world burn.

And so on.

Looks pretty, but between the main continuities and umpteen million alt-reality elseworld stories to continue keeping track of this Namedrop the Spy series is at the very end of my backlog.

I have high hopes for this just because DC has some great spy characters and agencies that haven't been used in a long time. Especially ones befitting the Golden Age. And I'm generally in favor of anything that makes Alfred more than a servant.

Can’t see this making it although I like the idea of showing Alfreds background. Just not enough teeth in my mind. But good luck to them.

Who the f#ck wants a Pennyworth TV show? Out of all the DC characters they could go with I don't see everyone having an Alfred TV show at the top of their lists.
