STARGIRL Calls For Backup In The New Promo For Season 2, Episode 10; "Summer School, Chapter Ten"

Following arguably the season's finest hour, next week's episode will find Courtney reeling from finally learning the truth about what actually happened between the original JSA and Eclipso...

Well, it looks like the cat's out of the bag as Courtney (Brec Bassinger) finally discovered the truth about what initially happened between Eclipso (Nick Tarabay) and the Justice Society of America and it was quite a killer reveal as Pat (Luke Wilson) spilled the beans about how the original team voted to kill the villain's human host Bruce Gordon (Jason Davis) in order to destroy the villain.

With the secret now out, next week's episode will pick up in the immediate aftermath of Eclipso's attack on the Dugan/Whitmore home as Courtney tries to process everything her parents have been keeping from her.

However, with time not on their side, Pat devises a bold strategy that may help them regain an advantage against the seemingly unstoppable villain, tracking down Jennie (Ysa Penarejo) in an effort to help them stop the evildoer once and for all.

On another note, Joel McHale, who plays Sylvester Pemberton, a.k.a. Starman, recently confirmed that he will be a series regular for season three, which recently began production.

Was busy, missed the episode.

Will watch it on the CW Seed tomorrow

So far the season has been even better than season 1

This is probably the least episodic of the cw shows.
No stand alone episodes. Have to watch every episode

Good episode. I really liked the opening scene between Bruce Gordon and how Eclipso was speaking to him from the Black Diamond, Nick Tarabay doesn't appear much there besides in that cool scene where he appears in the mirror's reflection but I like the voice he found for this character. The way he corrupted Gordon to allow himself to be possessed after that married woman made me think how Icicle would have easily fallen for that if he was still alive.

Last week confirmed the Doctor Mid-Nite googles allows to see through Eclipso's fear illusions and now this episode reaffirmed the Cosmic Staff can also allow for those that fall victim to them that snap out from them, Courtney did it without knowing with Yolanda first and did it again now. I guess since she is the user she will remain not eclipsed, something drastic would have to happen for her to end up caught as well.

Haunting!Jordan's scene with Barbara was good, Shade really wants to reach for her help if he was able to help get through that vision. But tbh I still think some of the words used in that scene could foreshadow Icicle's return one day.

We got a taste of how bad things could go if Cameron developed his powers and was out for revenge on any of the Whitmore-Dugans with Mike's own fear vision. Given we have seen this already I think the real thing will end up being quite different when it happens.

Flashback scenes were nice, but I wonder what happened with Charles McNider because he was not in the voting beyond nor he went to kill Eclipso's host but just in the scene of them burying his daughter. (Same with Johnny Thunder) Pat said they all drifted apart after they compromised their principles in choosing to go for the kill until they returned to fight the ISA and lost but it wouldn't surprise me if McNider kept researching more about Eclipso during all that time.

The Black Diamond was always with the JSA post Gordon's death, then the ISA took it after they defeated them and killed some of them, that is now cleared up.

And they mentioned The Spectre, Doctor Fate, Alan Scott and the Hawks failing to stop Eclipso. Well they weren't going for the kill.

That ending with the family arguing about the secret being out while "Bruce" watched outside makes me think he did all of this just to get to that moment. Point for Eclipso for now.

Can't wait for next week.

As for the preview for next week's:

Judging by the footage, I think that Pat's idea is to use Jennie's Green Lantern power to somehow reconstruct the Black Diamond so that at least they got something in their power to put back in Eclipso once it is all over. You can see around the 13 second the diamond's shards from 2x07, the ones that almost got Mike, engulfed in what seems to be green light/flames. Perhaps they attempt to do it first through the use of the Cosmic Staff but might fail.

Those tattoos on Shade's chest are weird, they look like eyes but IMO one of them, the one in his right chest, resembles an eclipse, as in a reference to Eclipso. The other does look like an eye.

And what is up with S.T.R.I.P.E. and those red eyes? Don't tell me it is also gonna end up getting eclipsed by Eclipso while Mike is inside of it. Although it wouldn't be surprising, S.T.R.I.P.E. does appear in the Season's poster inside the Black Diamond along with the rest of the cast as in reference to all of the people and things that could all be in danger of being corrupted by Eclipso so I guess it was kinda "foreshadowed". Hence why Stargirl was in the front and center not just for being the main hero of the story but due to her not being yet affected by any of his powers due to the protection the Staff appears to grant her from them. (2x05 she being the only one that wasn't affected by his fear illusions and was able to help Mr. Deisinger while the rest of the team fell prey to him)

And following that "visual logic" and after those that were in Eclipso's hit list in the latest episode, the only one left to still be in the crosshairs would be...Cameron.

And BTW @KingPatel, it seems that the actor that plays the original Doctor Mid-Nite has joined the show as a series regular just as they are starting to shoot their 3rd Season. He's been backed up by the lead of the series herself as well so it must be something similar to Joel McHale joining the cast.
