STARGIRL: Someone Can't Be Trusted In The New Promo For Season 3, Episode 6, "The Betrayal"

Well, it looks like the cat's out of the bag! With everyone now in the know about Courtney's icy little secret, questions begin to arise about whether they can actually trust Cameron with their own.

Despite Courtney's (Brec Bassinger) best efforts, everyone now knows about all of the time she's been spending with Cameron Mahkent (Hunter Sansone), who, as her team will try to remind her, is the son of the deceased Icicle (Neil Jackson) - someone she had a direct hand in bringing down.

The promo doesn't offer too much in terms of plot details, but we do see everyone from Pat (Luke Wilson) and Barbara (Amy Smart) to Rick (Cameron Gellman) and Yolanda (Yvette Monreal) questioning Cameron's true intentions and warning Courtney about trusting him too implicitly.

Meanwhile, it looks like Sylvester will continue to lead the new JSA, but he's going to have his work cut out for him when the tension between Yolanda and Cindy (Meg DeLacy) comes to a head.

Check out the new promo for episode six, titled "Frenemies - Chapter Six: The Betrayal," below:

Brec Bassinger headlines the series as Courtney Whitmore/Stargirl, with a supporting main cast featuring Yvette Monreal as Yolanda Montez/Wildcat, Anjelika Washington as Beth Chapel/Dr. Mid-Nite, Cameron Gellman as Rick Tyler/Hourman, Trae Romano as Mike Dugan, Hunter Sansone as Cameron Mahkent, Neil Hopkins as Larry Crock, Joy Osmanski as Paula Brooks, Amy Smart as Barbara Whitmore, Meg DeLacy as Cindy Burman/Shiv, Luke Wilson as Pat Dugan/S.T.R.I.P.E., and Joel McHale as Sylvester Pemberton/Starman.

Keith David voices this season's big bad Mister Bones, while Jonathan Cake (Richard Swift/The Shade), Ysa Penarejo (Jennie-Lynn Hayden), Stella Smith (Artemis Crock), Alkoya Brunson (Jakeem Williams), Tim Gabriel (Todd Rice/Obsidian), and Seth Green (Thunderbolt) are set to appear this season in recurring roles.

"Frenemies - Chapter Six: The Betrayal" - (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-PG, LV) (HDTV)

CLASHING FRENEMIES - After learning that Courtney (Brec Bassinger) has been spending time with Cameron, Pat (Luke Wilson) and Barbara (Amy Smart) go on a recon mission to see if the Mahkents pose a threat. Meanwhile, Sylvester (Joel McHale) steps in to fill the void left by Courtney, and tensions between Yolanda (Yvette Monreal) and Cindy (Meg DeLacy) reach new heights. Cameron Gellman, Anjelika Washington, Trae Romano, Hunter Sansone and Alkoya Brunson also star. Lea Thompson directed the episode written by Alfredo Septien & Turi Meyer (#306). Original airdate 10/12/2022.

Every episode of DC'S STARGIRL will be available to stream on The CW App and CWTV.com the day after broadcast for free and without a subscription, log-in or authentication required.

@KWilly - this had been the first dc universe show instead of titans, maybe the app would have had a chance (plus making it accessable through consuls)

seriously it may have a different style than the marvel netflix shows, ut id say its at least in the ball park of that quality

@dracula - The app was bound to fail because it was only available to the USA. Bad mistake from the beginning, streaming services must be worldwide and not just for one area.

I don't even watch the show but has it been revealed that Joel McHale's returning character is evil yet? Knowing this a CW show and they brought a character back from the dead, this guy has to be evil...

@CaptainDC - its a pretty standard superhero trope not just cw

there are theories going around for whats going on with him

He might be good, but part of a bigger plan of the villain

personally thinking its not starman, its Everyman

DC [frick]ed up removing geoff johns as head of dc films (after stupidly of removing him from being in charge of the comics)

surprisingly this is a show that started strong and managed to improve every season so far

Great episode with a lot of strong character moments along with reveals and I have to say that my favourite one was near the end with Sylvester actually putting to use his own experience with the debacle that was the Bruce Gordon situation to try to pass on some some wisdom to the new JSA of just how badly things can go if they pick sides. And acknowleding that it was his fault that divided the team instead of making them come together as Pat suggested. He's been very erratic in these 4 episodes so seeing him finally act as a mentor was great.

"There are no sides Yolanda. You shouldn't think that way, ever."

"Learn from my mistakes, please!"

"So if Courtney wants to hang out with Cameron, we can't let her."

👏

The last one of them is gonna be most likely a developing storyline but I'm actually hoping the first two about not letting the team end up being too divided and taking to the heart that if Sylvester, of all people with his occasional ego, is the one that is warning them about his own shortcomings so that they don't repeat them are actually being heeded. TBH I'm actually surprised that he isn't angry nor snapped at the idea of his successor dating the son of the ISA that killed him so yeah when Sylvester is ahem, cool, with that then you've got to slow down.

I really do wish that they could remember that the last time they trusted an ISA legacy it was none other than the nephew of the man that is standing right in front of them and who gave his life so that they could escape from Brainwave. (Henry) The situation isn't the same but it is also not so different either. It's really in them how they can choose to approach towards Cameron.

And one of them is definitely not bringing up personal chapters of his life out of nowhere in an attempt to taunt him as he's trying to keep his powers he just discovered the way that Cindy did. Having the laptop all for herself this whole time might have not gotten her any close to figure out the killer or find a way to cure her lizard scale like transformation but it's given her a lot of personal information of ISA legacies that she's using in a very reckless way.

The death of Cameron's mother really spiraled him to a dark, angry moment in his childhood. Maybe he was sent to the Helix Institute & that is how everything will come in together or maybe not but it was definitely post her death since Cindy jabbed at him for that. Without Jordan in the picture and being too busy traveling the world hunting down the ones that played a direct and indirect role in her dying (& despite she telling him not to) it's no wonder that Cameron became so furious that he had to be sent there until he learned to cope with his art better.

"Everything you just said proves you haven't changed" back again with another killer comeback just like in Summer School. It's enough with Yolanda being the one that has to be on guard like Sly said and how it's very Ted Grant-ish but if Cindy's gonna be around pushing the buttons of others behind the backs of the JSA, she's gonna be the sole responsible for Cameron becoming bad. Might just be the push he needs besides all the grooming his grandparents are doing.

If all she can see in others is the bad like she admitted it later to Courtney then she's really never gonna earn her own place in the team. Pulling off things like that won't ever get her points to be part of what she requested for. It' the exact opposite that Court has been trying to do.

As for the preview itself:

This is usually the episode in which we are treated to a great battle scene. It'll be hard to top the one from 3x03 in the store but I've got a feeling it'll involved Hourman with his no limiter 24 hours power up vs Cameron.

It's true that love can cloud your judgement, especially when you're young but the rest of the JSA are really jumping into conclusions too quickly by not giving Courtney the benefit of the doubt in what she's trying to do. And worse if they are really choosing to listen more to Cindy of all people before even Sylvester who just adviced them to not make the same mistake he did with viewing Bruce Gordon as a threat when in fact what he needed all along was help.

"She's teaching that little psycho how to conjure up icicles" girl you slut-shamed to hell and back for months Yolanda without mercy and only stopped when Courtney stood up to you, IDK how you're talking about others being psychos.

It's a little frustrating that they are all forgetting of what they went through with Henry in S1 and how much he helped them because in the end they gave him a chance.

Anyway next week will be a very eventful episode.
