Season 2 of The Flash saw Kevin Smith jump on board to direct 'The Runaway Dinosaur', an episode focusing on Barry Allen's relationship with the Speed Force. The episode became the highest rated episode of the season, due in no small part to Smith's affinity for the source material. As it turns out, series star Grant Gustin wants to see more instances like this.
While speaking at San Diego Comic-Con this past weekend, Gustin was quizzed on who else he would like to see direct an episode of the series, and he seemed to have a very worthy candidate in mind. "Yeah actually," said Gustin. "I met Joss Whedon last night. Yeah, that'd be really cool. He was a really nice guy and he loves the show. He's seen every episode of the show."
Whedon, of course, is famous for directing the first two installments of the Avengers film franchise, along with creating and directing acclaimed television shows such as Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Angel, and Dollhouse, which took major influence from his love of comic books. He's also directed episodes of The Office and the pilot episode of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Would you like to see Whedon helm an episode of The Flash? Sound off below!
