The Flash will return in October, and production is gearing up. The show will pick up after the big cliffhanger of season three, and focus on Team Flash dealing with the ramifications of Barry's current predicament.

With the big stories ahead for season four, the writers room realized it needed some help, and the producers have turned to Sterling Gates. An announcement that Gates himself made via his Twitter feed.

Gates has some experience in The CW DC Universe as his most recent work was penning the Supergirl companion comic, Adventures of Supergirl. However, he is also familiar with The Scarlet Speedster as he worked on The Flash Season Zero companion comic for the show.

The Flash will premiere on The CW on Tuesday October 10th at 8:00 P.M.

Glad to hear his addition.

Also there were other pics showing the first new "villain(s)" in the 1st episode might be the Samuroids.

Is he the writer who thought it was a great idea to have Supergirl throw the Flash to make him faster?

I nearly facepalmed to death when I saw that.

@ImmovableForce - I don't think he's ever written on any of these shows. He just writes the companion comics.

I don't get the point of CW's companion comics. Whenever really cool stuff happens in them, the shows ignore it or recon it. Like King Shark's origin or Ra's Al Ghul's story featuring Shazam magic.

So much stuff in Homecoming actually reminded me of the Flash.

On topic, I love Sterling Gates. He had an excellent run on Supergirl several years ago.
