With less than 3 weeks until the beginning of the end for CW's 'The Flash', the network had finally released the official description for the premiere episode of Season 9:

"Barry (Grant Gustin) creates a map book to guide him and Iris (Candice Patton) throughout their future in order to keep her safe, but the results are not what he expected, and instead, they relive the same day over and over again. Joe (Jesse L. Martin) has a heart-to-heart with Cecile (Danielle Nicolet). A new big bad is introduced to Team Flash and friends and foes, old and new, begin to descend upon Central City." - The CW

Official Description of The Flash Season 9 Premiere

For the final season of a show that has been running -- no pun intended, for nearly a decade, the cast and crew will undeniably be exhibiting the best of their abilities; in writing, storytelling, and acting.

There is much to unpack about the description, starting off with Barry and Iris's story this season. After losing her more times than he can count, with this past season being his tipping point following killing Iris from his own lightning, the time they will spend together will definitely be more closer than ever.

The lengths we will observe Barry go to in order to protect Iris super effectively will consist of him growing obsessed with their future, all included in this "map book" he created to keep her safe. However, we have seen how the future plays out for them even when they have anticipated it, so it seems that once again it will backfire, and the world will be against them yet again having them caught in a sort of same-day time loop.

Joe will provide his characteristically accurate wisdom for the sake of his wife Cecile. Not much relating to this aspect of their storyline this season has been revealed, but it can be determined that upon Cecile leveling up, her powers might end up causing more harm for her family and friends, rather than good.

Finally, the big bad. Red Death has been confirmed as one of the villains for the final season of The Flash, and they will be wreaking destruction and havoc everywhere they go. Team Flash will not be the only heroes to stand up against Red Death, as old friends and foes will assist Barry in taking them down.

The Hotness, Goldface, Pied Piper, and god knows how many more reformed villains Team Flash has in their arsenal, will be fighting alongside Barry in one of, if not the most toughest battle of their lives.

There will be plenty of more plot points and storylines to dwell into, the closer we get to The Flash season 9, which premieres on February 8th.

@IcePyke - they have done so in previous seasons before, such as the Bloodwork storyline in season 6. That is why I am optimistic.
