Believe it or not, the 100th episode of The Flash is right around the corner and The CW has now released the first official images from this landmark instalment of the DC TV series.

In it, the Fastest Man Alive and his daughter will be travelling back in time to revisit some of his biggest moments over the past five years and it's already been confirmed that the likes of Reverse-Flash and Zoom will be making an appearance. We don't see them in this gallery but there are some very intriguing shots of both Cicada and the members of Team Flash.

For more details on what to expect from "What's Past is Prologue," here's the official synopsis:

TOM CAVANAGH DIRECTS THE 100TH EPISODE — In the 100th episode, Barry (Grant Gustin) and Team Flash come up with a plan to stop Cicada (Chris Klein). However, the plan calls for Barry and Nora (Jessica Parker Kennedy) to travel back in time to gather some key necessities. However, Barry hesitates, concerned about his daughter seeing certain parts of his life. Meanwhile, Sherloque (Tom Cavanagh) takes his concerns about Nora to Iris (Candice Patton), and Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) turns up a key asset in the fight against Cicada. Tom Cavanagh directed the episode written by Todd Helbing & Lauren Certo (#508). Original airdate 12/4/2018.

Something tells me that pic of Barry and Nora inside the time vault is actually taking place in Earth-2. It's the color of the pic, has that golden age coloring from all of Earth-2.

Excited to see what happens in this 3rd around against Cicada.

Also and a bit off-topic: Elseworlds explains the absence of Batman.

Elseworlds stills. I think they are from the entire crossover and not particulary from one specific episode.

I REALLY hope Cicada isn't the big bad for the entire season. Unfortunately, The Flash has fallen into that abyss of same old story, just a different bad guy each season. 23 episodes with a single story line about one villain is just way too much.

@Philvis - Well all the shows have a different villain each season, and a full season of a single villain can work, have you seen Buffy The Vampire Slayer, pretty much created the concept of the big bad and always pulled it off
