THE FLASH: Godspeed Rumored To Be Making An Appearance In An Upcoming Season 5 Episode

The Flash has been struggling with Cicada as its big bad but things could be about to get a whole lot more exciting if this rumour about the villainous Godspeed is correct. Find out more after the jump...

Season five of The Flash has been described as something of a disappointment by fans of The CW series, especially as Cicada hasn't really lived up to expectations thus far. However, things may be about to get more exciting as a new rumour claims that the upcoming eighteenth episode (directed by Killer Frost actress Danielle Panabaker) is titled "Godspeed."

The villain made his debut during the DC Rebirth era of storytelling and was created by Joshua Williamson and Carmine Di Giandomenico.

A colleague of Barry Allen's in the Central City Police Department, August Heart gained his abilities from a Speed Force storm and started killing criminals with the use of his newfound powers. He also started taking out fellow speedsters in a bid to gain more power and so it's easy enough to imagine how he'll factor into the show.

The question is, could Godspeed be the new persona that Eobard Thawne takes on after being freed from that prison in the future? It would certainly make more sense than using him as a one-off villain.

We'll have to wait and see but this is just a rumour for now and nothing has been confirmed. The prevailing theory right now is that the Red Death could be season six's big bad and that would definitely be an improvement. What do you guys think?

Introdue August as a normal guy before he becomes Godspeed. Wonder who will be the next big bad, Godspeed or Red Death

I saw the blurry episode title card but I have also seen reports about it just being a “mentioning” meaning that it won’t necessarily be literally about the character himself. Godspeed is more like a Vigilante-esque speedster, he is kinda grey and believes the ends justify the means, he would fit more for a recurring villain because being we've never had a speedster fulfilling that role. (The Rival came a little close)

If anything there are other reports about the 18th episode that spark more interest than Godspeed: apparently, Barry and Nora, are by that point in the 2049 and Nora begs something to her dad and even promises that she will stop seeing Thawne. That’s all that has been reported. Seems 5x18 will be as important as previous 18th installments have been in past Seasons.

The consensus of the Season is that Cicada always escaping or being allowed to is what has harmed the story more than anything, besides that every character has had something on their plate to do instead than just always staying back at STAR Labs like previously so that has been an improvement. (Barely if not zero hallway talks)

Hadn’t had an issue with him fleeing because as long as he is holding the dagger he can not be approached or stopped by close range, specially if he has just summoned it back to his hand to escape. If he uses the dagger to propel himself away it means the weapon is activated therefore he could block their powers too. Lose situation.

And they can do Grodd as a big bad, he is able to possess other people’s minds to communicate from distance so that would be a way to save the budget for him. If not there are still other non-speedster options like Cobalt Blue, The Shade (Richard Swift, no the forgettable OC from S3 that was a Flashpoint husk), Brother Grimm, etc. I’d like to see more villains like those before returning to antagonist speedsters.

God this show is terrible.

Anyways, not only is Carlos Valdez rumored to be leaving the show after this season, but now Danielle Panabaker is rumored to be following Carlos.

Just read an article from We Got This Covered that Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow are ending next Seasons without even bothering to reveal their source. Who here would honestly believe it? Specially those that enjoy those shows? Pretty bs and quite for clickbait right? (There is another one of those saying Supergirl is going to end which is false because if any show was going to end for poor ratings it’s Black Lightning but that isn’t the case either)

Hence why it makes even less send to believe the still unsustained rumors that Carlos Valdes is leaving or that Danielle Panabaker is too just as she’s finished her first time ever being a director for an episode. At least that last one is plain preposterous.
