The Flash returns next month for its final batch of episodes, and the end of the Arrowverse now beckons. It's been one heck of a run, and it only feels right that Stephen Amell is set to reprise his role as Green Arrow...alongside a couple of other familiar faces.
After playing an alternate universe version of John Diggle in Superman & Lois, David Ramsey will return to suit up as Spartan, while Keiynan Lonsdale is going to reprise his role as Wally West/The Flash.
We still don't know whether this is a flashback or some sort of timeline manipulation, but we're sure fans would be happy to see Green Arrow rise from the dead so he can continue being a hero in the Arrowverse even after this era of storytelling ends. It might be best not to get our hopes up on that front, however.
Other familiar faces set to return in The Flash season 9 include Sendhil Ramamurthy as Dr. Ramsey Rosso/Bloodwork, Supergirl alum Nicole Maines as Nia Nal/Dreamer, and Batwoman star Javicia Leslie as Red Death.
After defeating the Reverse Flash once and for all, the ninth season of The Flash picks up one week later following their epic battle, and Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and Iris West-Allen (Candice Patton) are reconnecting and growing closer than ever before.
But when a deadly group of Rogues descend on Central City led by a powerful new threat, The Flash and his team - Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker), Meta-Empath Cecile Horton (Danielle Nicolet), the light-powered meta Allegra Garcia (Kayla Compton), brilliant tech-nerd Chester P. Runk (Brandon McKnight) and reformed cryogenics thief Mark Blaine (Jon Cor) - must once again defy impossible odds to save the day.
But as The Rogues are defeated, a deadly new adversary rises to challenge Barry Allen's heroic legacy And in their greatest battle yet, Barry and Team Flash will be pushed to their limits in order to save Central City one last time.
The Flash returns to The CW on February 8.
