The Sandman is set to premiere on Netflix tomorrow, and we have one more clip to give the uninitiated a better idea of what to expect from this small-screen adaptation of Neil Gaiman's seminal DC Comics series.

We only recently learned that Star Wars legend Mark Hamill would provide the voice of Mervyn Pumpkinhead, and we get our first look at The Dreaming's surly custodian here as he arrives in the castle to inform Lucienne of some concerning activity... only to be confronted by a rather vexed Morpheus.

Lucienne had been running things in Morpheus' absence, but now that the Dream Lord is back after his century-long stint in a cage, he'd prefer to be kept in the loop.

Check out the clip below along with the recent SDCC trailer, and keep an eye out for our review, which should be online tomorrow afternoon.

"There is another world that waits for all of us when we close our eyes and sleep — a place called the Dreaming, where The Sandman, Master of Dreams (Tom Sturridge), gives shape to all of our deepest fears and fantasies. But when Dream is unexpectedly captured and held prisoner for a century, his absence sets off a series of events that will change both the dreaming and waking worlds forever. To restore order, Dream must journey across different worlds and timelines to mend the mistakes he’s made during his vast existence, revisiting old friends and foes, and meeting new entities — both cosmic and human — along the way."

The Sandman also stars Kirby Howell Baptiste as Death, Boyd Holbrook as The Corinthian, Donna Preston as Despair, Stephen Fry as Gilbert, Mason Alexander Park as Desire, Charles Dance as black magician Roderick Burgess, and Sanjeeve Bhaskar as Cain. Joely Richardson will play Ethel Cripps, while David Thewlis will take on the role of her son John Dee, aka the deranged Dr. Destiny.

The 10-episode first season of The Sandman will adapt the first two arcs of the Vertigo comics series, "Preludes and Nocturnes" and "The Doll's House."

love the stop-motion-esque animation style they decided to go with for the head, adds so much to the magical surrealism of the character and gaiman's world in general. each new piece of footage makes me more hopeful, don't want to get too excited but if they actually pull this off (still a big if, we'll see), then... !

The way the head moves looks pretty cool. Love Sturridge’s demeanor as Dream.

Mark Hamill can do like 2 voices, and he's [frick]ing great at both. I love the stop motion look to the CGI. this seems very interesting, the fact that Gaiman is all in is enough to excite me

When I read Merv pumpkinhead. I always imagined joe Pesci’s voice, so Hamill really nailed it as far as the translation from my head to the screen only difference being Hamill plays it with a deeper voice but still has that blue collar Italian gangster vibe. Didn’t want the clip to end! Looking good so far.
