The main players for FX's small-screen take on Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra's Y: The Last Man have been announced, and the show has definitely lined up an all-star cast.

In the lead role of Yorick Brown will be Irish actor Barry Keoghan (Dunkirk), who recently made a splash with his chilling performance in The Killing of a Sacred Deer. He'll be supported by Man of Steel's Diane Lane as Yorick's mother, Senator Jennifer Brown.

In addition, Imogen Poots (Fright Night) will play Yorick's older sister Hero, and Captain Marvel actress Lashana Lynch is on board as fan-favourite character Agent 355.

Finally, Juliana Canfield (Succession) will play Yorick's love interest Beth, and Marin Ireland (Sneaky Pete, Hell or High Water) will play Presidential assistant Nora.

The pilot for the show was ordered earlier this year and will be directed by Melina Matsoukas (Insecure, Master of None). Production is expected to begin towards the end of July.

I'd love if contributors would include headshots with casting announcements, unless that's something that cannot be done.

Nonetheless, I've been anticipating this show for a decade now. Super excited.

@JoMadrox - I second that, seems like a comparison photo next to their comic book counterpoint should be standard with all casting announcements.

Also, Diane over Jodie Foster seems to make better sense.

I just watched Dunkirk, and he was good, but Yorick he is not.

Lashana Lynch is a fantastic actor and I'm happy that she is getting great projects. Though, this may mean that her character in Captain Marvel is not going to be Monica Rambeau.

I always liked the intital Shia Lebouff fan casting from years back, but this guy was great in Dunkirk. Glad to see this show moving forward
