While we await updates regarding the hotly-anticipated House of the Dragon spinoff, HBO Home Entertainment has finally released Game of Thrones: The Complete Collection on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, for the first time ever.

The Complete Collection is now available everywhere, both physically and digitally, for $209.99 from both Amazon and Best Buy, and, for absolute diehard fans, it is also available in a limited edition Best Buy-exclusive Steelbook collection for $239.99, which should be a hot ticket item this coming holiday season.

While seasons one and eight are already available individually on 4K Ultra HD, this will be the first time HBO has released seasons two through seven on the premium format, meaning some of the series' most acclaimed installments - including "Battle of the Bastards;" "The Rains of Castamere;" "Hardhome;" and more - will finally be viewable in the highest home video quality imaginable.

Individual 4K releases for seasons two through seven are rumored to be in the works, but it's uncertain when they might actually hit shelves, so for now, this will be the only way to get the series in 4K.

As for special features, the box set contains everything that was included on the Complete Series Blu-ray set that was released last December. Full details can be found below.

If I didn't have access to it already through HBO, I would probably only take the first six seasons. Normally I like bts stuff, but this time I didn't even care for it with the last season

Game of Thrones is like a marathon runner who started strong, set records for the first 9/10 of their run, and then shit their pants and passed out 5 feet from the finish line.

[frick] this show. I dedicated my life to it for 8 [frick]ing years, and to just absolutely drop the ball at the end like that was one of the most heart breaking, depressing and disappointing moments of my life. I will never forgive or forget.

My goodness, I have always wanted to watch The Sopranos but suffering through the last season of GOT has me not doing so. I suppose off topic but, anybody suggest sticking through the Sopranos for that good ol black screen ending? I dont think I could happily recommend someone going through all of GOT.
TheGrayGhost
TheGrayGhost - 11/3/2020, 1:20 PM
@QuietStorm - Yes I'd highly recommend The Sopranos. An all-timer for sure. The ending is nowhere near as bad as that of GoT.

I would've considered getting this, but the last season was such a disappointing and depressing shit, that i don't even feel like ever re-watching the show again.

What a way to ruin the greatest show ever made.

Hope this series gets the Full Metal Alchemist treatment and gets a proper adaptation of the later episodes once it's completed. If it's ever going to be completed.

As a Christmas gift, this doubles as a reliable conversation piece because you'll definitely spend the next 1-2 hours rehashing where it all went wrong.
