WESTWORLD: The End Is Nigh In The New Promo For Season 3, Episode 8: "Crisis Theory"

"What's about to happen, was always going to happen." After a jaw-dropping penultimate hour, HBO's Westworld is ready to bring it home next week with what's sure to be an absolutely wild season finale.

Well, it's time to face the music, and with next week's season finale preview featuring forebodingly epic quotes like "What's about to happen, was always going to happen," "You think you're in control," "Do you believe you're the hero?," and "I'm going to save the [frick]ing world," it looks like we're in for quite the thrill-ride when next Sunday rolls around.

Jennifer Getzinger directed the season finale, her second episode of the year after also helming episode six. She should be a relatively familiar name to fans of comic book movies and television, having directed an episode of Marvel's Daredevil, three episodes of Marvel's Jessica Jones, and two episodes (including the series finale) of Marvel's Agent Carter.

Westworld and Devs are easily the top two shows this year so far. Wonder if Caleb will team up with Charlotte or how Serac will play into all this. It's going to be a long wait to season 4.

Pretty good episode, though I felt it wasn't quite as strong as the previous one, which in my opinion was the best episode of the season. Though the last 5 to 10 minutes of this episode were great. I guess I don't quite feel as enamored about Caleb as perhaps others, his storyline just isn't as intriguing. But Paul is doing a good job.

The opening was great, nice to see some familiar faces and loved the way Samurai World Dolores was dealt with. The Maeve v Dolores fights were good, though surprised Maeve was getting her ass kicked so much. Also enjoyed Solomon, and as always, William was a blast and I enjoyed his bantering with Bernard and Stubbs.

The season finale looks great, can't wait. Rooting for Serac and Maeve. I still think that this season hasn't been as strong as the previous two, but there have been some great episodes this season. And if the dialogue for the finale is representative of what really happens, I like the idea that essentially this collapse of civilization was always going to occur, Serac was just prolonging the inevitable for as long as possible.

Kinda sad the season is already ending so soon but I think having only 8 episodes really helped this season overall.

That fight with Maeve and Dolores was pretty damn awesome but also made me realize who I liked more (Dolores). I'm glad Maeve's got most of her crew back though.

It feels like this season is just starting. 8 episodes is too little. The previous two had 10.
