For the past few months, all we have known regarding the premiere of Hayley Atwell's Agent Carter series is that it will kick off early next year. And while promotion for the eight-episode ABC show has shifted into high gear as of late, Marvel has finally revealed just how early Agent Carter will debut and when it will wrap up for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to return and continue its second season.

The highly-anticipated "Marvel's Agent Carter," starring Hayley Atwell in the role she first brought to life in Marvel's "Captain America: The First Avenger," will premiere on ABC Tuesday, January 6 at 9:00 p.m. ET. Then, once "Marvel's Agent Carter" concludes its eight-episode run, "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." will return to ABC with all-new episodes Tuesday, March 3 at its regular time, 9:00 p.m. ET, to complete its action-packed second season! What do you think?

“Marvel’s Agent Carter” stars Hayley Atwell as Agent Peggy Carter, James D'Arcy as Edwin Jarvis, Chad Michael Murray (“One Tree Hill,” “A Cinderella Story”) as Agent Jack Thompson, Enver Gjokaj (“Dollhouse”) as Agent Daniel Sousa and Shea Whigham (“American Hustle,” “The Wolf of Wall Street”) as Chief Roger Dooley.

I like the idea of doing miniseries like Agent Carter instead of making them full blown shows. I would of proffered this format for Agents of SHIELD and the Netflix shows. It cuts down on any filler and everything will have a natural progression.

@JamesMan

I'm pretty sure the miniseries idea goes for the Netflix shows too.

So we take December off and then we come back for 8 weeks of Agent Carter followed by 12 of AoS with 4 of those episodes taking place AFTER Age of Ultron. And then Daredevil will drop on the last Friday of May.

I can't handle how epic that is going to be.

That is soo awesome. Its supposed to be a break yet we are getting a brand new series. I thought this was coming out on Netflix. Oh well any channel is good for me.

Well I dont know if Im really all that excited for this...but its something Marvel related, so Ill give it a chance, particularly when its only a 8 episode mini-series. Plus Hayley Atwell was one of the best love interests in all of the Marvel movies, kick-ass and brilliant chemistry with Chris Evans...plus she is overwhelmingly sexy in every way!

The other two upsides of this show:

And depending on how many episodes air before Christmas, we might actually get no more Agents of SHIELD breaks from March onwards, thanks to this miniseries (plus I really hope the AOS mid-series finale somehow connects into Agent Carter, directly or indirectly)

AND, this is more hoping on my part, if this is successful, maybe it might motivate the CW to do a mid-season miniseries of the Suicide Squad or eventual Birds of Prey or maybe even Atom....maybe even Firestorm miniseries in the middle of the Flash...but again thats just me being hopeful

@homodrome

that is glorious!

@JamesMan What have you been reading? Everyone involved describes the Daredevil Netflix show as a 13-hour long movie. Where did you get the idea the Netflix 13-episode series format was going to have time for a lot of filler?

I always thought Peggy's character had more stories and I'm glad Marvel thought so too.
Also, Hayley is faptacular.

She's hot, but another bland Marvel show. P.A.S.S. Seriously, you guys who say you'll watch this are just fibbing.

Only the darkside of Netflix can possibly save Marvel TV. DD, LC and IF. That's where the magic happens.
