After appearing as "young cop" in The Avengers, Enver Gjokaj will return to the Marvel Universe, this time with a much larger role in the upcoming Agent Carter tv series. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gjokaj will play Agent Daniel Sousa, who "will meet Carter while she takes on a new role at the pre-SHIELD Strategic Scientific Reserve in New York City." Apparently the show will be set seven years after the events of Captain America: The First Avenger, and will focus on Peggy Carter as she struggles to adapt to life after losing Steve Rogers, all the while carrying out "secret missions" for Howard Stark. Gjokai is best known for playing Victor in Joss Whedon's Dollhouse, but he's also appeared in the likes of The Walking Dead, Dexter and Witches of East End. Captain America: Winter Soldier directors Anthony and Joe Russo will helm episodes two and three of the series, with the first film's director Joe Johnson rumoured to return to helm ep 4.

UPDATE: Marvel now also report that Chad Michael Murray (Fruitvale Station, One Tree Hill) has been cast in the role of SSR Agent Jack Thompson. They've also released the official synopsis for the show.

Marvel's Agent Carter," starring "Captain America's" Hayley Atwell, follows the story of Peggy Carter. It's 1946, and peace has dealt Peggy Carter a serious blow as she finds herself marginalized when the men return home from fighting abroad. Working for the covert SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve), Peggy must balance doing administrative work and going on secret missions for Howard Stark all while trying to navigate life as a single woman in America, in the wake of losing the love of her life--Steve Rogers.
