Clark Gregg Wants Paul Rudd's Ant-Man To Appear On AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.

Hit the jump to check out what Clark Gregg (Agent Coulson) has to say about Paul Rudd's Ant-Man and whether or not he wants him to appear on Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. - "Not taking himself too seriously".

Clark Gregg's Thoughts are below.

"What I love most about the movies from 'Iron Man' to 'The Avengers' is the sense of humor, and to have someone in the world who's going to really slam the not taking himself too seriously component out of the park is perfect. I hope [Rudd] does a lot of films with them and he comes onto our show, I love that idea. I love that idea. I think he's amazing and, for me, what's great about Marvel is the kind of outside the box casting that they've done, starting with Robert [Downey Jr.] who now seems so perfect, but I think was a little bit of a tough sell at the first moment,People who you don't associate initially with superhero movies is what works so well for Ant-Man, who's so smart and has an intellect."

Clark Gregg reprises his role of Agent Phil Coulson from Marvel’s feature films as he assembles a small, highly select group of Agents from the worldwide law-enforcement organization known as S.H.I.E.L.D. Together they investigate the new, the strange, and the unknown across the globe, protecting the ordinary from the extraordinary. Coulson’s team consists of Agent Grant Ward (Brett Dalton), highly trained in combat and espionage, Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen) expert pilot and martial artist, Agent Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker); brilliant engineer and Agent Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) genius bio-chemist. Joining them on their journey into mystery is new recruit and computer hacker Skye (Chloe Bennet). From Executive Producers Joss Whedon (“Marvel’s The Avengers,” ”Buffy the Vampire Slayer”); Jed Whedon & Maurissa Tancharoen, “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” pilot co-writers (“Dollhouse,” “Dr.Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog”); Jeffrey Bell (“Angel,” “Alias”); and Jeph Loeb (“Smallville”) comes Marvel’s first TV series. “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” is produced by ABC Studios and Marvel Television.

Despite the hate for this show, i did tune in every week for an easy "no brainer" watch at the end of the evening. Plus it's link with the MCU was interesting. That being said, i lost interest a few weeks ago and gave up watching.

However I may tune in again if ever there is an episode with Ant-Man's debut. All for it!

What the show need is some hero cameos to get peoples attention

@Dinotron Exactly. Also, if Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are not introduced in the after credits scene in CA:TWS, they should at least make an appearance in AoS before Avengers 2.

Disney's too cheap to have other heroes (than the main ones) make debuts or at LEAST have their names mentioned. Yeah we have Sam Jackson but was that appearance part of his marvel contract or was it something the show secretly did to pay him a bit more? I've only seem the first episode but if this were to happen I would honestly watch it just to see Ant-Man and his connection with shield. Maybe we should just get a "soldiers" of shield series.

I don't know what the appeal would be for Rudd. This show is neither funny nor interesting. It would be a huge downgrade from the Edgar Wright script.

I doubt we'll see Paul Rudd's Ant-Man appearing soon or ever in this show.

A tv show about Ant Man would be cool though.

i like the show for what it is though it has a lot of flaws, they need to learn more about the way to make tv shows, this aint a movie.

that being said, the mid season finale was fairly inferior to the rest of the show so far. corny is fine in doses, even heavy ones, but the whole episode being so fairy tale with too much humor ends up being something lo laugh at

if it gets renewed i think they could learn a lot from their first season, arrow did that.

oh crap, i mentioned arrow, im gonna get lambasted (i love arrow)

They need to introduce a hero that will work with the team permanently like Spider-Woman

They should just start throwing in Disney characters. I'd watch again if that happens. Put in some Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck.
