ARMOR WARS Reportedly Lands OBI-WAN KENOBI And SOLAR OPPOSITES Writers Among Others

Marvel Studios reminded us at D23 that Armor Wars is still on the way, and we now have an update about the show's creative team. According to listings shared by the Writer's Guild of America (first noticed by Reddit user u/xksgdm), four additional scribes have been added to the upcoming Disney+ series.

Yassir Lester has already been tapped as the show's Head Writer, of course, and joining him will be Rayna McClendon (Obi-Wan Kenobi), Lekethia Dalcoe (Two Sentence Horror Stories), Garrick Bernard (Solar Opposites), and Emma Fletcher (Parks and Recreation).

That's a great team, and McClendon, in particular, is someone whose experience promises to be invaluable to the Iron Man spinoff. As well as serving as a writer, he was also a consulting producer on the aforementioned Star Wars TV series.

The comic book version of the Armor Wars storyline saw a number of supervillains get their hands on Iron Man's technology, including the likes of Crimson Dynamo and Justin Hammer. The latter is someone fans are desperate to see return to the MCU, and he'd make a suitable enemy for Rhodey given their history in Iron Man 2.

In recent years, War Machne has definitely played a bigger role in the MCU than many fans expected, but if anyone is going to be the "new Iron Man," we have to believe it will be Riri Williams, a.k.a. Ironheart. How her journey will intersect with Rhodey's remains to be seen, but it would be a real shock for her to not factor into Armor Wars somehow.

What we do know is that Iron Man's death has left a huge void in the MCU, and there are likely to be a lot of heroes and villains now looking to fill it. The Department of Damage Control has already misappropriated his drones to hunt young superhumans, and we do wonder if Sentinels will ultimately be Stark tech.

What do you think about these additions to Armor Wars?

Calling it now. Based on the tone of its trailer, the fact that Secret Invasion HAS to have replaced an Avenger to have any real impact and the fact that they moved the release of Armor wars to Directly after Secret Invasion, Rhodey was the Avenger/Skrull in Secret Invasion and Armor wars is him coming back to protect Tony’s Legacy. It makes the most Sense, with his government and Avengers Connections, AND the fact that he’d be the easiest target to replace .

@DENNISsystem - I hate to be "that guy", but your idea is wayyy too good. Do with that as you will.

PS: For the record- I hope I'm wrong and you're exactly right, but I'm guessing the plot will be a lot weaker.

Ahhh what!?!? Well if it's the same people behind Obi-Wan we can already say goodbye to this show.

That's it I'm not watching any Disney projects anymore until they start hiring writers that have experience and a good track record of successes. This is beyond ridiculous now, these writers are clearly not the best in Hollywood, there's thousands of capable and very good and intelligent writers out there not being hired for some reason.

Find a random writer, Hollywood or not, and within minutes they usually come up with better stories and characters then the ones Disney is creating. Look to @DENNISsystem suggestion above, it's better then what we'll get and we all know that's true!

They really reuse crap writers. They do not care about fans.

The writing in Obi-Wan was weak though.

The only thing that elevated the show were most of the performances, story itself was poor.

I wonder if this show will also feature:

- A little girl that somehow can outrun multiple adults
- The lead protagonist making very strange and uncharacteristic decisions throughout
- The same macguffin plotline done twice within 6 episodes
- Carrying out something under your coat through enemey territory like we are in a 1960's Hannah Barbera cartoon
- A lead villain "ThAt CoNsTanTly VaRiEs ThEiR tOnE aNd VoLuMe To ShOw HoW aNgRy ThEy ArE!"
- A lead villain that literally does the things that drove them into villany
- Member Berries
- Making the lead protagonist super lame and unheroic for most of the show needing to be bailed out by side characters and the super running little girl constantly

My wishlist would be bring in Justin Hammer and have Doom play a role.

Bet right now that this takes Secret Wars slot and Secret Wars gets bumped to the next year.
