Yesterday, we learned that Marvel Studios will release all episodes of Echo at the same time on Disney+ (a first for the streamer), but the fact that the first trailer for the Hawkeye spin-off also screened during Disney's Upfronts seems to have flown under the radar.
Unfortunately, a full breakdown of the footage shown hasn't found its way online yet (probably not a great sign?), but we do know that the teaser ended with a shot of Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio) sporting an eye-patch after suffering a grievous wound in the season finale of Hawkeye.
In the episode, Maya Lopez, aka Echo, took revenge for her father's murder by shooting her "uncle" point-blank. We didn't see what happened next, but speculation that the bullet struck the Kingpin in the eye (just as it did in the comics) would seem to be accurate.
Echo star Alaqua Cox has also taken to Instagram to share her excitement for the show getting an official premiere date by revealing a new logo.
Echo follows, Maya Lopez, whose ruthless behavior in New York City catches up with her in her hometown. She must face her past, reconnect with her Native American roots and embrace the meaning of family and community if she ever hopes to move forward.
The series also stars Chaske Spencer (Wild Indian, The English), Tantoo Cardinal (Killers of the Flower Moon, Stumptown), Devery Jacobs (FX’s Reservation Dogs, American Gods) and Cody Lightning (Hey, Viktor! Four Sheets to the Wind), with Graham Greene (1883, Goliath) and Zahn McClarnon (Dark Winds, FX’s Reservation Dogs).
All episodes of Echo will be available on Disney+ from November 29.
