HAWKEYE Clip Sees Clint Barton Meet The Parents...And You'd Best Believe It Gets Awkward - Possible SPOILERS

Marvel Studios has released a new clip from Hawkeye featuring Clint Barton and Kate Bishop awkwardly making their excuses to an inquisitive Eleanor Bishop and Jack Duquesne. Check it out after the jump...

With less than a week to go until the first two episodes of Hawkeye arrive on Disney+, a new clip has been released featuring Clint Barton and Kate Bishop dealing with the wrath of the latter's mother, Eleanor. Clearly suspicious of this duo, the Avenger is quick to make it clear that they're not partners.

What's particularly interesting about this clip - hence the spoiler tag - is the fact that Jack Duquesne has seemingly never crossed paths with Clint before. In the comic books, Swordsman was responsible for training the future hero after they met at a carnival, though Hawkeye would turn on his mentor after realising he'd stolen from the group they were working for (in retaliation, the villain left him for dead).

Unless they're just pretending not to know each other here, it appears that shared history doesn't exist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. That's a shame, but for all we know, "Jack" doesn't suit up as Swordsman and this is another of those minor characters Marvel Studios has repurposed and reinvented.

Check out this new clip (and our reaction to the first two episodes of Hawkeye) below:

"Set in post-blip New York City, former Avenger Clint Barton has a seemingly simple mission: get back to his family for Christmas. Possible? Maybe with the help of Kate Bishop, a 22-year-old archer with dreams of becoming a Super Hero," reads the synopsis for the series. "The two are forced to work together when a presence from Barton’s past threatens to derail far more than the festive spirit."

Starring Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye and Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop, Hawkeye also features Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, Zahn McClarnon, Brian d’Arcy James and newcomer Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez. Helmed by Rhys Thomas and directing duo Bert and Bertie, Hawkeye is set to debut exclusively on Disney+ on November 24, 2021...with the first two episodes!

That would suck if he’s not Swordsman and that history isn’t there. Derek is Kate’s father too.

I think he is Swordsman but they’ve remixed a few things. My money is on him going by another name now or he has some ties to the Clint that even Clint is unaware of.

No way you hire Dalton to just play the rich dad
