HAWKEYE Stills Put The Spotlight On The MCU's New Archer: Hailee Steinfeld's Kate Bishop

Marvel Studios has released two new stills from Hawkeye that put the spotlight on Hailee Steinfeld's Kate Bishop, both in her badass costume and a little more incognito (with her bow in hand, however).

2021 may be nearing its end, but Marvel Studios is by no means finished yet. Eternals arrives in theaters this Friday, while Hawkeye lands on Disney+ starting November 24. From there, all eyes will be on Spider-Man: No Way Home, but we'll be spending the weeks before then familiarising ourselves with the Marvel Cinematic Universe's newest hero: Kate Bishop.

While Jeremy Renner's Clint Barton will also be the focus, it feels a lot like the passing of that "Hawkeye" mantle will be by far the biggest part of the latest Phase 4 TV series.

Those of you familiar with Kate will know she's a true hero, and in two newly revealed stills, we see a badass shot of her taking aim in full costume. The second, however, shows the future Young Avenger looking a little more discreet...despite carrying her bow. It does look like Clint will have his hands full showing Kate the ropes, but the trailers point to her being a very capable archer.

"Set in post-blip New York City, former Avenger Clint Barton has a seemingly simple mission: get back to his family for Christmas. Possible? Maybe with the help of Kate Bishop, a 22-year-old archer with dreams of becoming a Super Hero," reads the synopsis for the series. "The two are forced to work together when a presence from Barton’s past threatens to derail far more than the festive spirit."

Starring Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye and Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop, Hawkeye also features Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, Zahn McClarnon, Brian d’Arcy James and newcomer Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez. Helmed by Rhys Thomas and directing duo Bert and Bertie, Hawkeye is set to debut exclusively on Disney+ on November 24, 2021...with the first two episodes!

Anytime I read something about the MCU and it mentions the Blip I have to remind myself that, in fact yes, that is what the in universe name for what happened is. The person who came up with that got paid… probably a lot

@Twenty23Three - the Snap was what we viewers called what Thanos first did, kinda short lived and makes me imagine a world in which there’s more than the couple movies separating IW and EG, but oh well, more than a year would’ve gotten into pandemic pandemonium and EG wouldn’t have topped Avatar.

Or Airbender.

@TheWalkingCuban - although we aren't 5 years into pandemic (yet?), I think the 5 year gap between IW and EG allows for a lot of interesting narratives about a time society was down without having to mention the pandemic.

We'll probably have to wait a long time before we get to what happened in those 5 years though I think.

@TyrantBossMedia - Blip feels like a hiccup, like those people disappeared for a couple hours not years.

@Twenty23Three - "The Blip" sounded passable when first heard in Spider-man NWH, because it sounded like it was made up by a child. But apparently that's what they are calling it now.
