The first trailer has been released for Hit Monkey, the final series to come out of the Marvel Television era of small-screen storytelling. The entire 10-episode season is being dropped on Hulu on November 17, while an international release on Disney+'s Star platform seems likely across the rest of the world.
Based on the Marvel Comics, Hit Monkey follows a Japanese snow monkey who, aided by the ghost of an American assassin, goes on a revenge quest and becomes the famous "killer of killers."
Like M.O.D.O.K., chances are Hit Monkey will only receive a single season on Hulu because Marvel Television is no more; now, Marvel Studios is in charge of these shows, all of which head to Disney+ (rather than its sister streaming site). It looks like it could be a fun ride, though, and Daredevil fans are bound to notice that, yes, Lady Bullseye looks set to factor into the story somehow.
The cast includes Fred Tatasciore as Monkey, Jason Sudeikis as Bryce, George Takei as Shinji, Olivia Munn as Akiko, Ally Maki as Haruka, Nobi Nakanishi as Ito. Josh Gordon and Will Speck serve as showrunners, while the animated adult series is co-executive produced by Keith Foglesong, Matt Thompson, and Neal Holman, and produced by Duffy Boudreau, Mollie Brock, and Marcus Rosentrater.
