LOKI And WANDAVISION Have Also Been Put On A Two-Week Hiatus Due To Coronavirus Pandemic

Following yesterday's reports about The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, it's now been confirmed that both that and Loki and WandaVision have been put on hold by Marvel Studios and Disney. Check it out...

Unsurprisingly, Variety has now confirmed that production on The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Loki, and WandaVision has been put on hold due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus.

Disney made the decision to hit the pause button on its Disney+ TV shows yesterday, and it's said that those currently in the pre-production phases will continue being worked on "remotely." That bodes well for their future, but there's still a lot of uncertainty surrounding what Hollywood will do next depending on how bad things get with this pandemic.

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier was the first to delay production earlier this week due to having to leave Prague. Loki has been filming in Atlanta, while it's thought that work on WandaVision has pretty much been completed, so it's likely in-studio scenes which have now been put on hold.

This news comes shortly after Disney decided to suspend production on all its live-action films, including Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and The Little Mermaid

As of right now, we have no idea whether this is going to lead to any delays, but WandaVision isn't set to hit Disney+ until November, and Loki is scheduled for 2021. As for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, that's coming our way this August, but it's entirely possible it will be delayed if these delays continue posing a problem for Hollywood productions.

Stay tuned for updates as we have them!

Man when did Falcon and Winter Soldier start filming? Feels like it's been ages. They gotta be wrapping up soon regardless

They wont announce it yet, but the entirety of Phase 4 is going to be delayed/cancelled and it will delay the start of Phase 5 till late 2022.

Black Widow;
• Original scheduled; May 1, 2020.
• Expectations; Releases to poor box office OR released on Disney Plus OR is delayed to take Eternal's November 6th 2020 spot

Eternals
• Originally scheduled; November 6, 2020
• Expectations; Release date is pushed back to May 7th in order to release during more profitable summer months.

Shang-Chi
• Originally scheduled; February 12, 2021
• Expectations; The movie is cancelled. Production has ceased, director and some crew is self-quarantined, losing studio $300k a day. It is cheaper at this stage to cancel than to have production delayed for potentially months.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
• Originally scheduled; May 7, 2021
• Expectations; Delayed production start to earliest of Summer 2020, release in either late 2021 or early 2022. Originally planned to begin filming in May 2020, this is obviously not going to happen.

Untitled Spider-Man: Far From Home sequel
• Originally scheduled; July 16, 2021
• Expectations; Takes the November 5th 2021 release date from Thor. Originally planned to start filming in July in Atlanta, Los Angeles, New York, and Iceland. Even if Summer does slow the virus, they would not risk it. As such they would delay filming.

Thor: Love and Thunder
• Originally scheduled; November 5, 2021
• Expectations; Delayed to May 2022. Filming is scheduled to start in Australia in August 2020, but this will likely be pushed back a little. With the inclusion of the GoTG it makes more sense to release this as the big summer 2022 release. This will be the big film they rely on to determine the future of the MCU after the massive losses they will experience prior.
