Season 2 of Loki has featured quite a few Easter Eggs over the course of its three episodes, but this week's chapter, "1893," actually included a deep-cut Marvel Comics cameo that seems to have flown under most viewers' radars.
In the credits, Richard Dixon's character - who purchases Victor Timely's invention and then gives chase when he realizes the Loom is a fake - is listed as Robber Baron, who made an appearance way back in Human Torch #16 in 1944.
There was another "Robber Barron" who might be seen as a better match for Loki's take on the character, however: Norman Osborn's great-grandfather, Alton.
In 2000's Spider-Man: the Revenge of the Green Goblin miniseries, Norman reveals that his ancestor, Alton Osborn, was responsible for building the Osborn family fortune. Alton came to be known as a robber baron, a businessperson who amasses large amounts of wealth, typically by means of unfair business practices.
Loki's Robber Baron is almost certainly not supposed to be this exact character, or course, but it is an intriguing little callback for Spidey fans nonetheless.
This week's episode concluded with Timely accompanying the God of Mischief and Mobius back to the TVA, and Sylvie seemingly stranding Renslayer back in He Who Remains' castle with Miss Minutes, who hints that she's about to spill some shocking secrets about her uneasy ally's history with the Kang Variant.
