Shooting on Loki season 2 continues in the UK, this time with a restaurant in Essex transformed into a 1970s-era McDonalds. Tom Hiddleston and Owen Wilson were on hand in their TVA uniforms, as was an unidentified actor who is clearly meant to be their prisoner based on what he's wearing.
This isn't the first time we've seen Loki and Mobius M. Mobius, of course, but what's really interesting is that the photos also feature Sophia Di Martino's return as Sylvie.
Dressed in that decade's McDonald's uniform, it appears she's enjoying her lunch break before heading back to work. The question is, is this the same Sylvie we met in Loki season 1 or a powerless Variant who the MCU's Loki encounters after landing in the reality where the TVA is ruled over by Kang the Conqueror?
Your guess is as good as ours at this stage, but it's fun trying to figure it out! Unfortunately, we can't share the photos here, but they can be viewed over at Mail Online.
We know the plan was once to take Loki to the 1970s during the show's first season, and it appears this next batch of episodes is embracing that era in a big way. After killing He Who Remains, Sylvie may well have chosen to take refuge in this timeline, though we can't help but wonder whether this will cause an incursion after what we learned in the Doctor Strange sequel.
Loki is still the only Marvel Studios TV series on Disney+ to get a season 2, and following the departures of director Kate Herron and Head Writer Michael Waldron, season 1 scribe Eric Martin is taking over the latter's role. That's no bad thing when he penned some of the show's best episodes, and with Moon Knight directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead on board, it's a solid creative team.
There's no word on a premiere date for Loki season 2, but the belief is that it will be released on Disney+ shortly after Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (which hits theaters on February 17, 2023). The threequel will see Jonathan Majors reprise the role of Kang, but we still don't know which Kang Variant that will be!
What do you think the deal is with Sylvie here?
