LUKE CAGE Season 2 Smashes Through The Cover Of Empire's New TV Magazine Pilot

Jessica Jones season two didn't quite live up to expectations but next up for Netflix's Marvel efforts is Luke Cage and the indestructible hero takes centre stage on this awesome new magazine cover...

Print is dead, right? Well, Empire Magazine clearly doesn't agree because the team behind that is launching a new publication focusing on television. As you can see below, the second season of Luke Cage is given the spotlight as the character - played by Mike Colter - quite literally smashes through the cover and reminds us that it will debut on Netflix this June (season one aired all the way back in 2016).

Despite the fact we've seen a brief trailer for the series, not a whole lot is known about Luke Cage season two beyond the fact Danny Rand will be making an appearance for a Heroes for Hire team-up.

We did, of course, get to see Luke in action in The Defenders but beyond introducing him to Danny Rand, the spinoff didn't do a whole lot to move his story forward. Are you excited to see it return and to check out any new reveals in this magazine? Be sure to let us know your thoughts down below.

I liked Iron Fist better than Luke Cage

@ODanil - Loved Harold and Ward/the cheesy 70's Kung-Fu movie vibe. Luke Cage started out great and then took a dive into camp and that was disappointing. Where as I thought Iron Fist was more consistent and didn't take itself so seriously the whole way through. I see you.

I got like 5 more episodes of Jessica Jones Season 2 and I'm sure it'll stumble in the ending like most of these shows do so I'll follow up with yall but so far I think it's really as good as it could be without Kilgrave. Very good in my opinion.

Something tells me this season is going to be classic comics Cage. Wild fun. The teaser had the attitude I wanted from season one. And I loved season 1...the first half.

Luke seemed a little braggadocious here and that was cool to see it.
