Ms. Marvel began shooting last September, and work on the series wrapped in Thailand in May. We only ever got a handful of set photos for the Disney+ series, though some did show actress Iman Vellani suited up as Kamala Khan. Now, we have a couple of newly surfaced images featuring the character using her powers (which are obviously going to be added later with visual effects).
As these shots are taken out of context, we don't know whether the police are aiming their guns at Kamala or another threat, but we'd be willing to bet she's embiggening her fist here!
Marvel Studios hasn't revealed the source of Ms. Marvel's powers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so it's unclear whether the plan is to explore the concept of Inhumans in the show. There have previously been rumours that might be the case, but we've seen nothing concrete to suggest it will happen.
Ms. Marvel also stars Saagar Shaikh, Aramis Knight, Matt Lintz, Zenobia Shroff, and Mohan Kapur, with El Arbi and Fallah, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, and Meera Menon all set to direct episodes of the series. A premiere date hasn't been revealed yet, but we are expecting to get six instalments revolving around Kamala Khan's live-action debut sometime in late 2021/early 2022.
