Ms. Marvel is currently shooting in Atlanta, Georgia, and we have the set photos to prove it (via Just Jared). They don't reveal much, but do give us a first look at newcomer Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan. She's only riding a bike, and clearly not in costume, but the actress definitely looks the part. Oh, and look closely at what's on her arm. Recognise it yet?
That's the same Air Force symbol Carol Danvers has on her jacket in Captain Marvel! The photos shared by the site - check them out here - also reveal she's wearing an Avengers t-shirt.
It seems unlikely we'll get any shots of Vellani in costume because those are scenes Marvel Studios are likely to film behind closed doors; then again, we got to see Wyatt Russell's Captain America via set photos (concept art of John Walker suited up from The Falcon and The Winter Soldier had been released beforehand, though).
Nothing has been revealed for this Disney+ series beyond a title treatment, of course, and if she does have to suit up outdoors, then that could end up serving as our first look at Ms. Marvel. It's not ideal, but had Comic-Con gone ahead as planned, chances are we'd have seen something by now.
Given all the production issues Hollywood has had thanks to the pandemic, it's great to see that Ms. Marvel is shooting, especially as it keeps it on track for a possible debut in 2021.
