MS. MARVEL Won't Hit Disney+ Until Q4 (July-September) 2022 Along With ANDOR

Bad news for anyone still hoping to see Ms. Marvel premiere on Disney+ before the end of the year, as it's now been confirmed that the MCU-set series won't hit the streamer until next summer.

It was obviously starting to look more and more unlikely that Ms. Marvel would premiere this year (we are now in November, after all), and it's now been confirmed that we won't see Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) make her small-screen debut until next summer.

During this evening's Disney investor earnings call, CFO Christine McCarthy revealed that Bisha K. Ali's series won't be hitting the streaming service until the fourth quarter of 2022 (between July and September). The show will establish Khan's role in the MCU in the buildup to her joining Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) and Monica Rambeau in Nia DaCosta's The Marvels in February of 2023.

We also got confirmation that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story prequel series Andor, which will see Diego Luna reprise the role of the titular freedom fighter, is scheduled for the same time period.

Ms. Marvel will focus on "a 16-year-old Pakistani-American growing up in Jersey City. A great student, an avid gamer and a voracious fan-fiction scribe, she has a special affinity for superheroes, particularly Captain Marvel. But Kamala struggles to fit in at home and at school—that is, until she gets super powers like the heroes she's always looked up to. Life is easier with super powers, right?"

The show will also star Laurel Marsden, Aramis Knight, Saagar Shaikh, Rish Shah, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Matt Lintz, Yasmeen Fletcher, Laith Naki, Azher Usman, Travina Springer, and Nimra Bucha. Keep an eye out for a first teaser, which might just debut this Friday during Disney+ Day!

@FortWaba - Marvel Studios executives

They're the ones that kept saying it would be released this year 🤷🏽‍♂️

The 2022 lineup is so wild when you combine the movie and tv slate.

1. Moon Knight
2. She-Hulk
3. Thor: Love and Thunder
4. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
5. Ms. Marvel
6. Werewolf by Night Halloween Special
7. Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special
8. Secret Invasion
9. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
10. What If S2

(Not chronological order ofc).

I thought Q4 always meant october-december, but I guess this is one of those cases october marks the new year.

Anyway, that is later than I expected for both. Ghess we'll be getting She-Hulk and Moon Knight, and Kenobi and Bad Batch before those two then I guess.

@bkmeijer - "I thought Q4 always meant october-december, but I guess this is one of those cases october marks the new year."

Lol. You are correct. The only time I've seen it any difference in companies that start their fiscal year on July 1.

I'm guessing someone messed up on this one.

@bkmeijer - You're thinking calendar year-end, which most companies use for reporting. However, companies can choose whatever year-end date they want financially and Disney uses Oct 2nd. So their fiscal Q4 would roughly be Jul 2 - Oct 2.

@Krav - I'm already not that hype on Andor. He wasn't even my favorite character in that movie. I'd have preferred a series focusing on Donny Yen and the order of monks who guarded the Jedi Temple that he came from. Thats a far more interesting premise to me than a a space spy.

Q4 is October to December. July to September is Q3

@528491 - In an alternate universe that started after Sylvia killed "He Who Remains".

It's only going to get worse!

What? That’s the one we have already seen stuff from. I honestly was expecting it in like February. Are some of these other shows going to be available sooner? Is Ms Marvel going to be chocked full of special effects? I do actually like the power change. I like the character but I have in all honesty thought it was weird that the sidekick to Ms Marvel had stretchy powers. Something more cosmic-y makes a lot more sense so she can follow Captain Marvel into space always made more sense to me.

That’s kind of when I expected to see Andor. Although we also saw behind the scenes of it, I always just head that other things were further along. So excited for the potential of a spy show set in the world of Star Wars.

Ah, bummer! But I don't mind that much, not a big fan of the character. So, I'm guessing She-Hulk or Moon Knight is our next D+ series.
