Marvel Studios has added a number of big names to the Secret Invasion series coming to Disney+, including Olivia Colman, Emila Clarke, Kingsley Ben-Adir, and Killian Scott. Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn will lead the series as Nick Fury and Talos, but there's been no word on who the rest of those talented actors might be playing.
As per usual, speculation is running rampant, with S.W.O.R.D. Director Abigail Brand a popular suggestion for Clarke after her memorable stint in Game of Thrones.
When S.W.O.R.D. was introduced in WandaVision, fans were surprised that the organisation was led by newly created character Director Hayward. With Monica Rambeau heading into outer space, it's unlikely she'll take on that role, so the door could be open for Abigail to make her live-action debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Introduced in the pages of Astonishing X-Men, it's likely the rights to the hero have been tied up with Fox, but the characters from that world are now all available to Marvel Studios.
In this impressive piece of fan-art, we get an idea of what Clarke might look like as the S.W.O.R.D. Director, and it's fair to say she would be pretty perfect as the cosmic equivalent of Nick Fury. However, it's every bit as likely that the actress will take on a villainous role like Skrull leader Veranke.
