Out of all the Disney+ Marvel TV shows on the horizon, Secret Invasion might be the most intriguing - not to mention mysterious. Though the show will probably be at least partially influenced by the source material, we still don't know who most of the main cast members are playing or how they'll factor into the story.
Now, a new rumor claims to have identified the character Killian Scott (Love/Hate, The Dublin Murders) will portray, and it's someone with ties to the X-Men.
According to The Direct, the up-and-coming Irish actor has been cast as Fiz the Skrull. In the comics, Fiz was a mutant member of the shape-shifting alien race who could also alter his size, Ant-Man style. After being exiled by his people, he travelled to Earth and was taken in by Charles Xavier before going on to travel with the X-Men while helping them out on several missions.
Of course, even if Scott is playing Fiz, it's important to note that this small-screen take could be a very different. For one, previous reports have indicated that his character is going to be a villain, which would immediately set him on another path. Plus, it seems highly unlikely that Marvel Studios would choose this relatively obscure individual to serve as an introduction to mutants in the MCU.
Secret Invasion plot details are still under wraps, but we do know that Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn will reprise their Captain Marvel roles as Nick Fury and Talos, respectively. It's also been confirmed that the show will focus on "an infiltration of Skrulls on Earth" (no big surprises there).
One Night In Miami star Kingsley Ben-Adir will play the lead villain. We don't know who that'll be, but Dorrek VII, Emperor of the Skrull Empire, is a strong possibility. The cast will also include Olivia Coleman (The Favorite, Tyrannosaur) and Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones, Solo: A Star Wars Story) in undisclosed roles.
Thomas Bezucha (Let Him Go) and Ali Selim (The Looming Tower) have been tapped to helm the upcoming miniseries, which was written by Kyle Bradstreet (Mr. Robot). Production is now underway.
