SECRET INVASION: Killian Scott's Character Rumored To Have Ties To Mutants And The X-Men

Irish actor Killian Scott (Love/Hate, The Dublin Murders) was cast in a supporting role in the Disney+ Secret Invasion series earlier this year, and we may now know which character he'll be playing...

Out of all the Disney+ Marvel TV shows on the horizon, Secret Invasion might be the most intriguing - not to mention mysterious. Though the show will probably be at least partially influenced by the source material, we still don't know who most of the main cast members are playing or how they'll factor into the story.

Now, a new rumor claims to have identified the character Killian Scott (Love/Hate, The Dublin Murders) will portray, and it's someone with ties to the X-Men.

According to The Direct, the up-and-coming Irish actor has been cast as Fiz the Skrull. In the comics, Fiz was a mutant member of the shape-shifting alien race who could also alter his size, Ant-Man style. After being exiled by his people, he travelled to Earth and was taken in by Charles Xavier before going on to travel with the X-Men while helping them out on several missions.

Of course, even if Scott is playing Fiz, it's important to note that this small-screen take could be a very different. For one, previous reports have indicated that his character is going to be a villain, which would immediately set him on another path. Plus, it seems highly unlikely that Marvel Studios would choose this relatively obscure individual to serve as an introduction to mutants in the MCU.

Secret Invasion plot details are still under wraps, but we do know that Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn will reprise their Captain Marvel roles as Nick Fury and Talos, respectively. It's also been confirmed that the show will focus on "an infiltration of Skrulls on Earth" (no big surprises there).

One Night In Miami star Kingsley Ben-Adir will play the lead villain. We don't know who that'll be, but Dorrek VII, Emperor of the Skrull Empire, is a strong possibility. The cast will also include Olivia Coleman (The Favorite, Tyrannosaur) and Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones, Solo: A Star Wars Story) in undisclosed roles.

Thomas Bezucha (Let Him Go) and Ali Selim (The Looming Tower) have been tapped to helm the upcoming miniseries, which was written by Kyle Bradstreet (Mr. Robot). Production is now underway.

Just because a character has ties to the X-men doesn't mean that'll be the case in the MCU. Hell Magneto's daughter is one of the most high profile Avengers at this point. I hope they do start hinting at mutants soon but this seems like a reach to me

@Ha1frican - I'm getting real "the guy who got his arm broken in Black Widow is the MCU's first mutant!" vibes. Like, do people WANT the first MCU mutant to be him or a size changing Skrull?

@Ha1frican - wandavision kind of implied that Wanda was born with her chaos magic gifts. I know she’s part of a prophecy as the scarlet witch, but if she was born with her gifts that still makes her a first generation mutant

@DalekCraigWasson - While I don’t want that let’s not forget that everything we have now was based on Iron Man which wasn’t exactly a powerhouse IP at the time so who knows where that could end up yknow?

@JFerguson - I got that vibe too, it felt like they were saying it without saying it to keep the door open for a Magneto or mutants connection later on

Up and coming actor? Love/Hate is like a decade old.

Anyway, I hope they don't try to ease us into new X-Men in a weird way with this one

Everyone has connections to everyone else. That's kind of the whole gimmick of comic books.

@Reeds2Much - well, the upcoming no way home definitely has some serious x men connections. Because Spiderman in the comics was rejected by the x men.

I hope they don't just call it The Mutant due to the whole Woke movement. Just call it X-Men and stick it slightly to the source material.

@Bluesman - I'd prefer it to stay as X-Men, but it's not like The Mutants wasn't what Stan the Man wanted to name them originally. Not to mention the X-Men have always harbored the idea of inclusive, left wing politics. Either way they name it, the woke brigade or republiQans are going to get their feelings hurt and hurls insults at each other.

"*insert new Marvel film/series here* is rumored to include/have ties to ____________."

A) Mutants
B) Daredevil
C) Dumb Sony bullshit
D) All of the Above

Then repeat weekly until it happens or we all die.

Can't believe Cobie Smulders is not cast in this already. She is usually close by or at the hip of SLJ's Fury.

"Fiz and other Mutant Skrulls, found his way to Charles Xavier on Earth"

This happens in the comic. In the Show, maybe this "Skrulls migration" is the origin of the Secret Invasion. Also "Super Skrulls" could be a name to refer to the collective of mutant Skrulls. So, Kl'rt would be a Super Skrull and he would copy the powers of others around oneself. This is his mutant ability.

I think I liked the rmour of him playing Kl'rt more. Neither will be a straight adaptation from the comics, so might as way go with the more popular character

Guys, can we please just not. I'd love it if we could get ONE Marvel thing since the FOX acquisition without speculation about the X-Men. They're not coming any time soon. We've got SO many new characters getting introduced in the near future with Ms. Marvel, She Hulk, Mighty Thor, Kate Bishop, Moon Knight, Iron Heart etc etc. Plus we have Yelena and USAgent that still need more character development. The last thing Marvel is trynna do now is heap another 30 undeveloped characters on the pile before they really do the work introducing and developing the people already on the board.
