SECRET INVASION Actor Samuel L. Jackson Indicates That He'd Be Hesitant To Star In A DC Comics Movie

Samuel L. Jackson is one of the most prolific actors working today, but when asked if he'd ever consider jumping ship from Marvel Studios to the DCEU, the Secret Invasion star showed little interest...

Samuel L. Jackson made his debut as Nick Fury in the post-credits scene of the first Iron Man movie back in 2008, and has been a mainstay of the MCU ever since. In between his appearances as the tough-as-nails former S.H.I.E.L.D. Director, Jackson has continued to star in a wide variety of projects, but would he ever consider making the jump to the DCEU?

The Secret Invasion star was asked that very question while chatting to Josh Horowitz for the Happy Sad Confused podcast, and while he initially seemed to entertain the idea (“sure, why not?”), there was a "but."

“But I dunno that I’m going to read a DC script that’s gonna make me go, ‘yeah, this is dope!’ cause you expect things to happen, because… look, I’m a comic book fan. I’ve been reading comic books forever, [but] I dunno what the thing is with [DC] cinematically.”

Jackson admitted that he actually preferred DC to Marvel when he was growing up, but his response indicates that he may not be the biggest fan of Warner Bros.' big-screen output! Horowitz interjected to suggest that this could be because Marvel Studios has a better grasp of the shared "cinematic universe" formula, to which Jackson offered: “Sometimes. Most of the time... most of the time.”

Several actors have dipped their toe in both worlds at this stage, of course, but it might be a little strange to see Jackson show up in a DC movie after being such an integral part of the MCU for so many years.

What do you guys think? If Jackson could be convinced by a great script, which DC character do you think he should play?

That's pretty fair tbh.

Other than Batman, it's kind of all over the place. Some solid movies but I think SLJ really enjoys the connectivity with Marvel.

@Menks123 - Shazam and The Suicide Squad were pretty great also, and I think most people really enjoyed the first two acts of the first WW.

I don't blame him. After the Dark Knight Trilogy and Man of Steel, DC films have been and continue to be a train wreck.

@Forthas - Really?
Shazam
Joker
Wonder Woman (excluding '84)
The Batman
The Suicide Squad
Peacemaker, if we're including shows even.
These are all very quality experiences. And yet, you still try to act like and portray yourself as someone who's not a Marvel troll. Just stop dude.

@JesseCuster - Yeah, and I’m not the biggest fan of Joker, but all these are definitely their best and better than Man Of Steel too.

@JesseCuster -

Shazam (Did not do that well at the box office)
Joker (Bares little resemblance to the comics)
Wonder Woman (Ruined by WW 1984)
The Batman (Good but not a game changer)
The Suicide Squad (Box office bomb)
Peacemaker, if we're including shows even. (not a film)

These are all very quality experiences. And yet, you still try to act like and portray yourself as someone who's not a Marvel troll. Just stop dude. (If I am a Marvel Troll why would I praise Man of Steel?)

@JesseCuster - eh I wouldn’t entertain him; he’s been going on about the dark knight trilogy and man of steel forever
