SHE-HULK: ATTORNEY AT LAW Posters Finally Put The Spotlight On Matt Murdock...And Daredevil!

Marvel Studios has released two new character posters for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, focusing on both sides of one very specific superhero. While we're sure you were hoping to see Leap-Frog highlighted here, it's the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Man Without Fear who steps into the spotlight.

We see Charlie Cox back as lawyer Matt Murdock and suited up as Daredevil. This red and yellow suit looks terrific, and Marvel Studios has somehow made this design work in live-action.

There were those who doubted that when talk of this costume first surfaced, but we have to give them credit because this is a fantastic take on 'ol Hornhead. Whether it will carry over to Echo and Daredevil: Born Again remains to be seen, though we certainly wouldn't be against it.

Based on what we've seen from this character in the MCU thus far, he's really fitting in. She-Hulk: Attorney at Law delivered a fun take on Matt that felt more in line with Mark Waid's comic book run than the bleakness often seen from writers like Frank Miller and Brian Michael Bendis.

The show also gave us one of the hero's patented hallway fight scenes, and Cox hasn't missed a step. This is the Daredevil fans want to see in the MCU, and we have to give Marvel Studios - and director Kat Coiro - a lot of props for finding a way to include this throwback to Matt's former small screen adventures.

Elsewhere in the episode, Matt and Jen really hit it off and end up spending the night together. However, the Hell's Kitchen vigilante is still in his superhero costume, forcing the Man Without Fear to do the walk of shame the next morning...while still suited up in his snazzy red and yellow costume.

Awesome. So glad he's back.

And I also liked he mentioned his law firm and the pro-bono work.

@Fogs - I only wish he had mentioned the firm’s name. 😉

@RolandD - true! Maybe they didn't want to give too much away

@Fogs - A lot of fans have wanted to see his original costume in live action, so it may have been fan service. Brighter colors certainly fit the tone of this show.

Episode was average but I dug the Daredevil stuff, especially when his theme started up.

I loved seeing that mustard colored costume. And fighting a classic Stan Lee-era villain, too (even though he was already in the red costume when Leap-Frog debuted in #25).

I get the feeling that She-Hulk's comments are gonna be what inspires him to create a red costume, though.

Between the emotional "lows" of Netflix and his "high" in the last episode I've little worry that he could nail the bipolar aspect of the character. The script just has to actually embrace it.

Maslany is super charming. Cox is super charming. Together, it was like a smorgasbord of charm.

It was an okay-ish episode. At this point I have made my peace with just not really vibing with this weird show. But I love that Daredevil is back and it makes sense to have him here. I'm just gonna overlook that they turned him into way too much of a goofball with his clownish costume and his constant jokes and snobbish behavior - which I just gonna assume comes from She-Hulk being She-Hulk and is not indicator for how he will be portrayed in Born Again.

@Drace24 - I didn't see a goofball. I saw the same lovable guy who liked to joke with friends.

In the Netflix series, he didn't have any time to joke with friends in costume, mostly due to the fact he had no friends. His dialouge fit the scenario without pulling him out of character.

Imo.

@VictorAlonzo - I'm fine with Matt Murdock being all smiles and jokes - on the outside. But Daredevil should not be like that. It completely breaks the character and the dark asthetic that he clearly intends with his suit. (Not that they cared much about that in the show either.) Daredevil is the monster that Matt occasionally lets out whenever the law fails. That's his whole thing. I don't expect the MCU Daredevil to be as serious and broody as in the original show, but I certainly don't want him to be the polar opposite of that either. I get that a serious Daredevil would not really fit into this show tho, so I'm fine with it as long as it was just this once.

@Drace24 - Daredevil began as a swashbuckler and even when he shed that persona in some regards, he was always glib and showy in the suit. Especially when engaged or teaming up with other heroes as he did here.

@Drace24 - you are wasting your fingers typing, alot of the peeps on this site have never ever read a DD comic and go by purely whats shown on the tv
Dotanuki
Dotanuki - 10/7/2022, 4:03 PM
@newmutantsRETURNS - how wrong you are! There are many versions of DD. Look at the Waid run with Riviera as a recent example of DD. Pretty bright and fun.
Drace24
Drace24 - 10/7/2022, 4:20 PM
@Dotanuki - And there were comics where Thanos cruised around New York City in his little Thanoscopter. Only because it has been done in the decades the character has been around, doesn't mean that's how he should be forever. Do I really need to explain why a guy who executes vigilante justice against criminals at night while dressed as the devil should maybe not be a happy go lucky joker while doing so in order make the whole thing work?

He can absolutely be a literal daredevil who enjoys throwing himself into danger, but he should take serious what he does.
Dotanuki
Dotanuki - 10/7/2022, 4:24 PM
@Drace24 - okay, so you know better than Mark Waid about the spirit of DD. Perhaps you should write DD then.

Face it, as someone said, swashbuckling DD is not out of character and you’d recognize that if you’d read a DD comic other than Born Again.
Dotanuki
Dotanuki - 10/7/2022, 4:27 PM
@Drace24 - Charles Soule: I think it's crucial. It's as important as humor is to Spider-Man. Daredevil can get really dark sometimes, and certainly the next big story goes that way. So, I wanted to remind the reader of some of the things about Matt's life that are actually fun before we go back into the shadows. He's a ladies man, he's incredibly smart, he's a sharp dresser (somehow), and he likes to show off sometimes. Plus, he's a daredevil. He works without a net, and those are fun stories to tell.

But what does he know about DD?
TheNZNatural
TheNZNatural - 10/7/2022, 4:45 PM
@Drace24 - no, there aren't any comics where Thanos did that. There are adverts for Hostess pies where he did, but not an actual canon Marvel comic. I question your credentials, sir.
Drace24
Drace24 - 10/7/2022, 4:48 PM
@Dotanuki - You don't need to get ad hominem at me, bro. You can disagree with me all you want, but then atleast make real arguments and don't just try to disqualify me from having an opinion.
Comics are by nature kooky and out there. And with long running characters such as Daredevil, of course they will eventually experiment. That doesn't mean that a characters core identity should be ignored when adapting to the screen. Which in Daredevil's case is - I repeat - that he executes vigilante justice against criminals at night while dressed as a the devil. Sorry, I guess, if that doesn't sound particularly fun and colorful to me.

"But what does he know about DD?"

What do you mean? That is exactly how I described the character. A charming ladykiller who, atleast on the outside, has sense of humor as Matt Murdock. But a dead serious vigilante who enjoys to throw himself into danger as Daredevil. Thanks for making my argument for me, I guess.
Drace24
Drace24 - 10/7/2022, 4:52 PM
@TheNZNatural - Wow. That changes absolutely nothing about my argument. Is there a reason you are trying to make this a comics knowledge pissing contest?
Reeds2Much
Reeds2Much - 10/7/2022, 4:56 PM
@Drace24 - If this is a pissing contest you are severely dehydrated.
Dotanuki
Dotanuki - 10/7/2022, 4:59 PM
@Drace24 - if that’s the case, and I read your previous comments several times, you need to do a better job of expressing yourself bc it wasn’t clear at all. 🤷🏻‍♂️
Drace24
Drace24 - 10/7/2022, 5:01 PM
@Reeds2Much - Nope. Not going down on that level. I'm happy to discuss but unless you have actual arguments instead of petty ad hominems, there is nothing to talk about with you. Bye.
