The San Diego Comic-Con trailer for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law confirmed the persistent rumor that Daredevil will appear in the show by giving us a quick glimpse of the Man Without Fear flipping over the Emerald Amazon in his updated red and yellow costume.
The Devil of Hell's Kitchen will once again be played by Charlie Cox (who made his MCU debut in Spider-Man: No Way Home), but short of that, we still don't know very much about the character's role in the upcoming Disney+ series.
Writer Jessica Gao and star Tatiana Maslany have both dropped a few hints in recent interviews, and director Kat Coiro has now weighed in.
"They match each other's wits, is what I can say," Coiro told EW when asked if she could reveal any new details on Daredevil's involvement. "I am definitely excited for Daredevil to make his appearance, because I think he's going to be a crowd favorite. But I can't tell you anything else about that. The Marvel police is a real thing and I don't want to get arrested by them."
So, still not a whole lot to go on here, but it certainly sounds like both heroes will have a connection. A previous rumor claimed that Cox would actually only factor into a single episode, but that remains to be seen.
Coiro also spoke about Jennifer Walters' fourth wall-breaks and if it's something we'll see throughout the entirely of the season.
"A huge part of the She-Hulk comics is her breaking the fourth wall and taking control of her narrative and being in charge of her own story. She was doing it way before Fleabag or Deadpool. She was doing it back in 1980. All I can say is it's a huge part of the comics and we honor the comics."
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law follows Jennifer Walters as she navigates the complicated life of a single, 30-something attorney who also happens to be a green 6-foot-7-inch superpowered hulk. The nine-episode series welcomes a host of MCU vets, including Mark Ruffalo as Smart Hulk, Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky/the Abomination, and Benedict Wong as Wong. The cast also includes Ginger Gonzaga, Josh Segarra, Jameela Jamil, Jon Bass and Renée Elise Goldsberry. Executive producers are Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Kat Coiro and Jessica Gao. Co-executive producers are Wendy Jacobson and Jennifer Booth.
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is set to premiere on Disney+ on August 17.
