Marvel's She-Hulk has begun to round out its supporting cast, and the latest addition to the Disney+ series is highly in-demand Hamilton star Renée Elise Goldsberry.
We don't have many details on her role, but Deadline reports that she's playing a character named Amelia.
Could this be an incarnation of Amelia Voght? She is a mutant in the comics, but is also a S.W.O.R.D. Agent who has had several run-ins with She-Hulk, and the character could easily be repurposed for the show. There's also Amelia Hopkins from Savage She-Hulk, but that seems less likely.
Of course, there's always a chance Goldsberry won't be playing an established Marvel Comics character at all, or that Amelia turns out to be a codename.
Goldsberry won a Tony Award for her role as Angelica Schuyler in Hamilton, and has also appeared in Waves, Netflix’s Altered Carbon and NBC’s Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist.
Tatiana Maslany is set to star as She-Hulk, with Mark Ruffalo confirmed to appear as Bruce Banner. Tim Roth is also on board as Abomination, and we know that an actor to play a mysterious female villain is currently being sought. Ginger Gonzaga was recently cast as Walters’ best friend, most likely Jill Stevens.
Dead To Me director Kat Coiro wil helm the pilot and several other episodes, while Rick and Morty scribe Jessica Gao will lead the writers room.
