Some new promo stills for the upcoming She-Hulk: Attorney at Law Disney+ series recently did the rounds, and our first proper look at the villainous Titania has come in for almost as much ridicule as the trailer's wonky VFX shots.
The character's costume design seems to be the biggest issue for most fans, but the hair has also received its fair share of shade!
Ever the good sport, actress Jameela Jamil has taken to Twitter to address the criticism. The Good Place star seemingly acknowledged that this photo probably wasn't the best way to introduce Titania, but defended her stylist by giving fans a new behind-the-scenes look at her hair before it was subjected to "a 14 hour stunt day in atlanta heat. Just after being upside down."
We're still not exactly sure how Titania will factor into the show, but this take on the baddie is said to be a "Kardashian-esque social media influencer in her 30s with a dark side." This would obviously be a very different origin for Mary McPherran, who was given super-human strength, stamina and durability (the powers of a Titan) by Doctor Doom during Secret Wars in the comics.
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law follows Jennifer Walters as she navigates the complicated life of a single, 30-something attorney who also happens to be a green 6-foot-7-inch superpowered hulk. The nine-episode series welcomes a host of MCU vets, including Mark Ruffalo as Smart Hulk, Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky/the Abomination, and Benedict Wong as Wong. The cast also includes Ginger Gonzaga, Josh Segarra, Jameela Jamil, Jon Bass and Renée Elise Goldsberry. Executive producers are Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Kat Coiro and Jessica Gao. Co-executive producers are Wendy Jacobson and Jennifer Booth.
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is set to premiere on Disney+ on August 17.
