SHE-HULK Writer Jessica Gao Says She's Proud Of Show's "Horniest Marvel" Title

Disney+'s recent She-Hulk: Attorney at Law was far from graphic in its depictions of sex (the actual act was only ever implied), but it was the first Marvel Studios project to focus on a single woman with an active dating/sex life - something that initially gave the studio higher-ups cause for concern.

Discussions about sex have never exactly been taboo in the MCU (we even saw Sersi and Ikaris engage in a brief, rather chaste bonk in Eternals), but She-Hulk definitely upped the ante, with Jen Walters joyfully confirming that Captain America "fuuuuuuu...s," before later declaring that she "smashes" Matt Murdock, etc.

The series' more relaxed attitude and sex-positive approach soon earned it the title of "Marvel's horniest show," which is a moniker head writer Jessica Gao is very proud of.

“[She-Hulk’s finale hopefully] allows more Marvel projects to get a little weird. One of my proudest accomplishments is how this was the horniest Marvel show so far,” she tells Empire Magazine.

Deadpool 3 will be Marvel Studios' first R-rated project, but others are said to be in the works, and there is a very good chance She-Hulk has paved the way for even the more teen-oriented movies and shows to push the envelope a little.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law follows Jennifer Walters as she navigates the complicated life of a single, 30-something attorney who also happens to be a green 6-foot-7-inch superpowered hulk. The nine-episode series welcomes a host of MCU vets, including Mark Ruffalo as Smart Hulk, Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky/the Abomination, and Benedict Wong as Wong. The cast also includes Ginger Gonzaga, Josh Segarra, Jameela Jamil, Jon Bass and Renée Elise Goldsberry. Executive producers are Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Kat Coiro and Jessica Gao. Co-executive producers are Wendy Jacobson and Jennifer Booth.

All episodes of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law are now available to stream on Disney+. There's been no word on a second season.
