'Angela Petrelli' To Return To HEROES REBORN; Show Creator Reveals Who Won't Be Back
Yet another familiar face has joined the cast of Heroes Reborn! Cristine Rose is set to return to the NBC series as 'Angela Petrelli', but are there too many old characters on board? Creator Tim Kring recently touched on how he plans to balance the old and the new. Read on for more!
Cristine Rose is the latest Heroes alum to sign-on for a role on Heroes Reborn. The veteran actress played the cold and manipulative 'Angela Petrelli' on the orignal show. According to E! News, like many of her fellow returning co-stars, she is set to have a guest-starring arc. Rose joins her former colleagues Greg Grunberg, Sendhil Ramamurthy, Noah Gray-Cabey, Jimmy-Jean Louis, Masi Oka and Jack Coleman on the NBC revival show.
With so many old faces returning, fans have begun to wonder whether this revival has unwittingly become Heroes Season 5. The core premise of Heroes Reborn initially was to introduce new characters and storylines, rather than act as a continuation of the original show. Creator and executive producer Tim Kring briefly addressed these concerns, while talking to EW.
"Everybody who’s coming back has been in the press," Kring revealed. "We have a cadre of characters from the previous that will make appearances—some bigger than others, some just in a cameo way. It will be an interesting use of the older characters.” This would seemingly rule out returns for some of the original show's bigger stars, including Hayden Panettiere, Ali Larter, Adrian Pasdar, Milo Ventimiglia, and Zachary Quinto.
What do you think about the return of Angela Petrelli, and the fact characters like Claire, Sylar, Niki and her own sons Nathan and Peter will not be joining her? Do you believe the show's writers will succeed in finding the right balance between the old and the new? Heroes Reborn is set for a 13-episode arc on NBC this fall. Are you excited?
