'Angela Petrelli' To Return To HEROES REBORN; Show Creator Reveals Who Won't Be Back

Yet another familiar face has joined the cast of Heroes Reborn! Cristine Rose is set to return to the NBC series as 'Angela Petrelli', but are there too many old characters on board? Creator Tim Kring recently touched on how he plans to balance the old and the new. Read on for more!

Cristine Rose is the latest Heroes alum to sign-on for a role on Heroes Reborn. The veteran actress played the cold and manipulative 'Angela Petrelli' on the orignal show. According to E! News, like many of her fellow returning co-stars, she is set to have a guest-starring arc. Rose joins her former colleagues Greg Grunberg, Sendhil Ramamurthy, Noah Gray-Cabey, Jimmy-Jean Louis, Masi Oka and Jack Coleman on the NBC revival show.

With so many old faces returning, fans have begun to wonder whether this revival has unwittingly become Heroes Season 5. The core premise of Heroes Reborn initially was to introduce new characters and storylines, rather than act as a continuation of the original show. Creator and executive producer Tim Kring briefly addressed these concerns, while talking to EW.

"Everybody who’s coming back has been in the press," Kring revealed. "We have a cadre of characters from the previous that will make appearances—some bigger than others, some just in a cameo way. It will be an interesting use of the older characters.” This would seemingly rule out returns for some of the original show's bigger stars, including Hayden Panettiere, Ali Larter, Adrian Pasdar, Milo Ventimiglia, and Zachary Quinto.

What do you think about the return of Angela Petrelli, and the fact characters like Claire, Sylar, Niki and her own sons Nathan and Peter will not be joining her? Do you believe the show's writers will succeed in finding the right balance between the old and the new? Heroes Reborn is set for a 13-episode arc on NBC this fall. Are you excited?

Loved this show, hated how it ended! Such a shame... hope this does it justice!

Now to be fair Season 4 was decent, not as good as the first but better than the previous one (MohinderFly anyone?). The show definitely declined in quality but I thought season 4 lifted the series a bit, specially with its ending. Say what you will about it but it set up massive changes for that world, changes I doubt we´ll see in this new series.

Still hoping to see Peter again, not hyped about Hiro though (got annoying real fast). But Im glad we´ll see Parkman and Mohinder again.

Ali Larter was the best part of the show.
Nikki/Jessica was an interesting character in season 1.
Then she was a highlight as Tracy.

And if any actor was to come back, I would've hoped it would be Larter, since we know nothing about the third triplet Barbara.

But, i do hope these are cameos. If they're going to bring it back they need to keep it fresh and not rely on the older cast.

The original show sucked and so will this! Peter was the only good character. NBC is probably my least favorite non-cable channel.

The Puppet master from Heroes was one of my favorites, really hoping he makes a good guy cameo!

This was basically X Men but it got out of control and lost it's way but Season 1 is X Men.

With Tim Kring still in control as showrunner, this iteration is doomed to failure. As continuezero said, Kring was just ripping off the X-men and had no gameplan in mind and didn't know where he was going or what he was doing. I doubt things have changed so this is just a moneygrab and is therefore doomed to fail IMO.

The only way I see this show working is if they view it as season 2 of Heroes or that Heroes never took place, then it will work. Personally, I would rather see that Heroes was reset, due to something Hiro did and then he is killed.

This deserves to flop! I sincerely hope it does!
They had a perfectly good show with Constantine,
And they treated it horribly! The level of incompetence
At NBC absolutely amazes me!!!

Bingo!!! It's unfortunate as [frick] too.

Sure Season 2 was crap but seasons 3 & 4 were solid! Can't wait for this.

I at least wanted to see Claire. Her, Niki and Hiro were the only characters I gave a damn about.

In all seriousness...having Hiro go back & do something to the timeline & changing things is a great idea...he could for instance be in the original group that his father(George Takei), and the Petrelli's were in...having him "die" could be the catalyst for this whole new Heroes universe....also bring back Ali Larter..the idea of her being a multiple is way too, good to pass up...there could be a million different versions of her...each with a unique & different set of powers...

Truthfully I would rather have a Heroes Season 5 with the original cast just to right the ship for one season and bring it back to the quality show it was the first two seasons before Kring left. They could right the wrongs made those last couple of seasons and wind it up with a big finale and introduce new characters for season six.

Not really interested in watching that show with no Claire, Peter, Sylar, or Hiro. What's the point?
