NBC Has No Plans To Continue HEROES REBORN

NBC's Heroes Reborn may be one and done. However, that was the plan from day one as NBC network chairman Bob Greenplat revealed today that series creator Tim Kring always planned to conclude Reborn after one season. Were you tuning in?

At today's Winter TCA panel for NBC, network chairman Bob Greenplat stated that the peacock network has no plans for a second season of Heroes Reborn.  But it's not a ratings or quality issue.  Creator Tim Kring simply never planned for the series to continue beyond one season.

"That was always the plan, unless Tim woke up one day and said, 'Oh, I have another chapter to tell.' But I think we're coming to the end of the world, maybe. Stay tuned."

The season finale is scheduled for January 21 but it looks more like that's going to be the series finale.

Horseshit. They thought they could catch lightning in a bottle twice, and when the ratings proved otherwise, then they try to play it off.

It was fun but it was always going to be tough to rehash an old formula. Ironically, this would have been a great season several years ago.

I'm glad I got to see what they were up to one more time.

I've been enjoying Reborn, it was a pretty intriguing take. But the season 4 was so bad people won't even give reborn a chance. Yea it has cheesy moments but so does AoS, Flash and especially Arrow so I don't see the reason for all the hate. Hopefully Netflix will pick it up for another go. There's still fans out there.

I tried watching this. Reminded me almost immediately why I stopped watching in the first place. Next time, and hopefully there is no next time, focus on one or two characters, and quit trying to build a universe worth of heroes and villains.

That's way NBC called it an "Event mini series" if it did well of course they would do another season but by calling it an Event series they divert any negativity for not doing another.

Round up in the back, edgy on the front, it might last, it might not.

Yea we still need some answers. Who's the father of Tommy and Milina, where's Sylar, Peter and Ando?

It's pretty obvious its Peter's kids. I been enjoying Reborn alot for the most part however last weeks return after winter break was pure trash. I can't even defend that. I am sure the final two episodes will be great.

This sucks. I actually enjoy Reborn quite a bit. Some of the characters are meh but some of the stories are quite good. A nice mix of old and new.

@mattattack yea Peter is Claire's uncle dude, that's nasty.

@NightsKing I dint see any reason why Peter and Sylar would fight again, Sylar ended the series being a good guy. Who knows maybe Peter turned into a baddie. Guess we may never know.

The could've just recast Peter and Sylar since they can both shapeshift.

I tried to give this show a shot but gave up on it. Constantine should have gotten another season over this.

I've been watching and have to admit, I've enjoyed it, for the most part - didn't really love the Katana Girl stuff.

This show was all for naught. They tried to capitalize, and failed big time. No way was this going to hold up against the cw/cbs/abc lineup.

It was one of the worst tv shows i've watched...i've persisted cause i liked the original a lot but this is just terrible.

I loved this show when it started. After season two ended i thought it was promising, but the 3rd and 4th seasons were really weak... Like not even as good as some fanfic I've read.

This season started off great, but the killer of these "in between shows - not loved, not hated, just there" is that they break the season up for the holidays. It totally kills any chance that fringe viewers will ever tune in again.

Case in point: I didn't even know that it returned from the break?!?! And I'm a big fan of most of these characters. I really like what they did with hiro and how he lost his power but turned into a great father for Nathan Jr.

Here's to hoping they finish on a high note like season one finale!!! Yatta!!!

They need to fire the whole team behind this shit show and put some real money in the hands of those with real ideas..This show has been garbage since the pilot episode. I gave up after maybe 5 episodes. Sucks because they have a gold mined in their hands, they need a real creative team.

Oh and about katana girl. Great concept and actress but it looks like she's never used a sword before in her life. And the choreography of her fights, if that's what you call them, is non-existent. They def should have got someone who - you know - actually knows how to use a KATANA?!?!

Really this is the biggest flaw I saw when watching this show through my 2007 rose tinted glasses...

Both "Heroes" and "Once Upon a Time" have always screamed to me "We didn't want to actually buy the comic book rights..." and I've always resented them a bit as a result.

@Chewtoy,

NBC is the laughing stock of TV now. They've needed to get their shit together for awhile now.

OUAT is an abomination. I won't watch it on principle.

Oh, so if Heroes Reborn had dominated its timeslot, they'd have ended it anyway because "that was always the plan", right?

It's not Marvel or DC so I never cared about this show, but I think its hilarious that "Event" now just means "if this gets bad ratings we'll pretend it was always supposed to end after 1 season".

Networks will have to stop using the "EVENT!" tag in a few years, when the general public starts to wise up to the fact that it doesn't really mean anything except "this might bomb".

The original show never appealed to me because it attempted to be like a comic book but wasn't based on one itself. With all the real superhero shows out now, I didn't even bother to give this one a second of time. Everyone knew it was going to fail, not having any comic tie-ins.

season 1 was awesome but after that it never hit those heights. couldnt really get into heroes reborn muvh better on cw and abc. only good thing about this is that as the writers know its the only season we might get a satisfying ending. so I might actually watch the rest of it if this season is self contained and wraps up well

Bullshit. It was a backdoor pilot for a new series and it bombed so yeah nice try Kring and co.
