Dracula Looms On This Retro International Poster For Netflix's CASTLEVANIA Animated Series
On the heels of the recent first trailer for Netflix's upcoming Castlevania animated series, we have an awesome international poster which recalls the classic NEW video game's box art. Take a look.
Japanese video game magazine Famitsu has followed up the bloody first trailer for Netflix's Castlevania animated series with a new poster, which hearkens back to the classic NES artwork. As you can see, the still unnamed hero (we assume he's one of the Belmont clan) is shown, whip in hand as the threat of Dracula looms large in the background.
Producer Adi Shankar has previously teased a "dark, satirical" adaptation that would "flip the vampire sub-genre on its head," and more recently he promised us the "western world's first good video game adaptation." That remains to be seen of course, but with talent like Warren Ellis and Adventure Time's Kevin Kolde involved, it should be well worth a look at the very least.
Castlevania is set for a July 7 premiere. Check out the poster and a synopsis below.
Inspired by the classic video game series, Castlevania is a dark medieval fantasy following the last surviving member of the disgraced Belmont clan, trying to save Eastern Europe from extinction at the hand of Vlad Dracula Tepe himself. The animated series is from Frederator Studios, a Wow! Unlimited Media company, written by best-selling author and comic book icon Warren Ellis and executive produced by Warren Ellis, Kevin Kolde, Fred Seibert and Adi Shankar.
